Is Marc Marquez going to come back?

I remember watching an interview of Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainey long after their retirement, talking about their past rivalry. When discussing about Rainey's accident and ending up in a wheel chair, I remember Schwantz saying:

"It's not worth it".

Now I'm hearing antibiotic infusions and serious infection, and MRSA crosses my mind. Let's hope that is not the case.

Costa shouldn't have allowed Rainey to race. Listening to him spew his poetic crap in "Faster" made me think he needed to be a doctor and not a fan.

Pernat seems to think the probability is high that WinOrBin won't race 2021. He's of the opinion that HRC need to be knocking on Dovi's door to get him secured to ride for HRC.

Oh man, I wonder what the timeline is to determine if he needs another surgery. Sounds like a nightmare

“At certain point I didn’t feel the arm was mine”, he said in a statement that generates chills.

Fuxk, that rings a bell for anyone who has nerve damage. You think/feel "move my arm and scratch my head," and your arm says: "Dude. You are not my boss."

It's a really weird feeling.

I would assume that after his antibiotic treatments if the blood still shows infection then they would do that. 3 weeks or so?? Guess they should know by then whether treatments are working or not.

If they have to go again I would think there would be no 93 on the grid in 2021.

And.. potentially Ernie was right all along.

:laughing Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I'd rather be wrong and see him race some more, just nicer.

Edit:

The suck part for everyone is that we won't know for many months what the outcome is.

does that photo suggest he avoided external fixation and therefore got the infection under control?

To me it suggests that almost a year after his accident, his arm is still so compromised that it is in a sling and device to prevent any movement. It also says that his muscle atrophy on that side is shocking.

I haven't been able to exercise for six weeks, since my operation, at the level that I was exercising at, and won't be able to for a few more months, I am only now beginning light exercise. I have lost five pounds of muscle mass.

I have a fraction of the upper body strength that I had. I doubt that I could curl 30 pounds once, opposed to sets of 20. I also can't do one pushup. As opposed to 25. That's in six weeks.

It certainly is possible that he will be back on a bike next year, but I wouldn't be betting ten cents on a world championship.

I would basically agree Ernie.

At least for the first part of the season and with his will to win who knows how that will go.

He seems to be a driven man. We have seen others who have fought through huge potential career ending shit to ride/rise again. Mick comes to mind.

2021 gonna be good.

BTW: Keep healing and get back to your MotoGP life level.

His crash was July 19th. Thats just over 5 months ago. I guess that's almost a year.
