Had he actually given his arm time to heal immediately after the crash, rather than repeatedly injuring it, he'd have competed at the end of the year. It's a sad lesson. From what I read, and know, he's going to have months of recovery before that join is weight bearing again, and he's basically lost pounds of muscle mass in that arm over the last several months. Hoping for a full recovery. Best scenario would be that he comes back strong but the rest of the grid has advanced in the meantime, so he is less dominant but still a podium contender ever weekend.

Beats death, which the way he rides is how it very well may have ended if he had come along 20 years ago or more. I really hope he makes it back. 2020 turned out to be a pretty good year. I don't think it would return to utter dominance by him like before, which means the racing would be fucking riveting.

It took Alex Smith 2 very difficult years to make it back to football after the infections from his broken leg....

Not a huge fan of MM, Puig, Repsol, or even Honda... where was I going with this... oh yeah, but I hope he makes it back to racing again.
