Jack Johnson pancakes at https://www.squeezein.com/redwood-city-ca.
Buttermilk with walnuts topped with butter sautéed bananas.
Also locations in Reno, Truckee etc.
Edit. Website says Redwood City closed permanently!:thumbdown
Maybe I should consider bringing orders from Reno along with certain items from
Cabela's. :laughing

the stinking rose fondue at la fondue in los gatos...if you want to gain weight, la fondue is a good place to do it, haha. expensive though. they have a groupon, fwiw.

oh yeah. some crazy good cheese blend with garlic and I think white wine, with breads, fruits, veggies, etc to dip. and that's only one course. Le Freak is the meal we get, which comes with like 23 different meats for the oil, the cheese and the chocolate. groupon has had it in the past for ~50% off, with a bottle of champagne.

protip: If you get it, go light on the salad. It's wonderful and huge, but you won't need it.

edit: it's in saratoga not los gatos.

Brother-

That is my Wife's favorite restaurant!! We always get the Le Freak. The normal price is around $325, but the Groupon price is $150. I paid the regular price one time, then I got wise to Groupon. We go at least once per year.

:thumbup so good. The fam goes about once a year as well.

A few years back my kids grew up enough to start consuming like adults. One time we went there was this mad rush on the meat, so I came up with an idea: the meat draft, lol! We go round by round and pick two pieces each until they're all assigned, then dig in. I always "draft" the elk first...I've had not-great elk before but La Fondue's is exceptional IMO.

Love french toast, what kind of bread do they use?
Rick and Ann’s makes a pretty mean French toast.

I make the best French toast on Earth. I serve it only with coconut syrup from Hawaii and hand-picked white peaches. I can’t share the recipe or, you know, I’d have to kill you.

Just because I like you, I will disclose I put sliced banana into the bread.
i.e., I insert a banana into your slit ;)

PS - There’s actually a pic of my FT in the KS. Gotta
go way back. I may have it bookmarked.

If I recall, there is also a picture of Beau's dick in the KS. It doesn't mean I want to eat it or that it's the best in the world (to be fair, I haven't seen either the pic of Beau's dick or your FT, so they may actually be the best).

C'mon, you want to eat it a little bit, that's why you brought it up, right?

next time I visit the bay area, one of the first things I'm gonna eat is the Señor burrito from Señor Sisig. Pork, spicy, no pico.

Theres a truck right by my house, haven't tried it yet. Keep hearing mixed reviews on them.

Only complaint I've ever had about them is that Guy Fieri blew them up a few years ago and now the waits are stupid long. Worth it though. Get in early.

The California burrito is well loved by people, but not me. The whole fries-in-the-burrito thing always seemed kinda wack to me. Add guacamole to that and suddenly I'm eating a burrito that about halfway through it I need to sit down and think about what I'm doing with my life.

So, you’re saying that I’m not the only one who eats until I hate myself?

Best of all time: roast duck, somewhere in London, 40-ish years ago.

Best in the Bay Area: lamb shanks with garlic mashed potatoes, Kokkari, San Francisco.

I love duck. Anytime I see duck on the menu at any restaurant, I have to order it. BY FAR, the best roast duck I’ve ever had was at NOLA in the French Quarter in New Orleans. I promised myself that I would go back to New Orleans just for another taste of that duck.

Bourbon Heat has the best Alligator Sausage and the best Beans&Rice I ever ate. Whenever I get back down to the swamp, I will be eating there again for sure.
