$62k for my "decked out" dream Bronco; $48k for what I could live with as a 2nd vehicle for offroading / camping stuff.

$49k for a pretty sweet little offroad Ranger setup.

Eh we'll see what happens in a year or three.

Wait 1 year for a GME millionaire to lose all his shit and swoop in on a newly repo’ed decked out Bronco.

:rofl

New Raptor is going to have a V8. Crossing my fingers that this tanks the value of the gen 2 V6 trucks. :p

As for Fiestas and Elantras, they're not trucks. They don't have to worry about trying to reach a payload and/or towing capacity in order to be marketable. You can plug an economy engine into them and you're good to go.
So, to steer my threadjack back to the topic, Ford can't cut the back off a three cylinder powered Bronco Sport or Escape and stick a pickup bed on the back like a gladiator? I know this is 'murkah but not everyone needs a diesel dually to tow a fifth wheel. Give me back my little half ton.

No way I'm gonna piss away that much money on a truck. My sister was raving about Ford stuff so I bought some of their stock instead.

F has been pretty dogshit for many years now. Pays a dividend but it hasn’t budged from $8–10 for a loooong time.

It's at 11.37. I'm up over 15% in the 3 weeks I've had it. I imagine its EV commitment is helping.

I got it for $8 like 12 years ago. It’s been as high as $16 in all this time, but for the most part, it’s been a a disappointment for me.

FWIW, I don't think half-tons have ever been "little". I'd challenge you to look up all the specs through the years and you'll likely find that they're within inches of each other for the most part. We had a neighbor with the same size garage as ours and his 1968 regular cab long bed F-100 was too long to fit in his garage just like all of my late-model (ie: 2000+) F-150s were. Granted, none of those trucks of mine were regular cabs, but only one of them was a crew cab. All of them were still too long to fit in the garage. Full-size trucks have always generally been too big for most standard suburban garages.

I'd love to see this comparison, because, by gum, they sure seem enormous nowadays.

I had an extended cab 6.5’ bed Silverado 20 years ago. Extended cabs have lost their popularity in favor of the crew cab with 5.5’ bed. But one thing has remained the same...it’s been pretty much a 12’ wheelbase all along. That seems to be the “size” of full size pickup that most people want, and have wanted, for a long time now.

But yeah my old Silverado would be dwarfed by a brand new one. The bed rails are much higher on new trucks. And grille/hood line heights have risen quite a bit the past couple decades.

I just don't remember most pickup trucks in the past having their hood lined up with my nose.

Except for the height, which is significantly taller than back in the olden days. Way, way taller.

the suspension is too soft and ground clearance is too minimal on half tons for me to ever want to get another. Guess if you're just looking for something to go to home depot and throw stuff in the bed they're fine.

How about going to the mall to get Cinabon? That’s how I wanna use my truck. And I’ll put cargo in the cab thank you very much. Throw stuff in the bed all cavalier and shit? You might scratch the bed liner!

Srsly tho. I will totally make mall runs with it.
