SWEEEEETT!!!!!!
I'm planning to make a decision one way or the other by the deadline in March so if I place an order it will be in March.

The Mavericks and Comets were nothing to get excited about. I've got no problem with Ford using the name for a new product.
Nah. Total fail not reviving the Courier nameplate. And this thing will still probably be twice the size of the last gen Ranger - because the new Ranger is about the size of the old F150. Damn shame we can't get something Courier/Luv/Baja sized.

This new truck will be the size of the Bronco Sport so close to the size of the previous Rangers and a lot smaller than the current Ranger. Courier is about the least inspiring name I can think of unless some OEM decides to name a utility vehicle the "Manilla Folder."

I still think they copied the International Scout!

Different strokes I guess. FYI ford does already have the equivalent of your example with the "transit."

Those Luv/Couriers were great tiny trucks. I'd love something like that again. Even something reasonably sized like the old Ranger/Sonoma. Remember the Syclone and Typhoon?!

That's a pretty good looking truck.

Despite it being from the neolithic, I love the look of the modern 4x4 Tacomas, especially with the new "khaki" brown, gray, and blue paint schemes.

Agreed. :laughing

Tone down the options there, bud. :laughing

I managed it to just over $40K and through Costco I'd pay less than invoice anyway. :thumbup

Built one very similar to the options in my Tacoma it and came out to $40K.

$50k for me. Just trying to decide which first world problems to solve, this may rank second fiddle unfortunately.

Everything I've seen says that if you're ordering now, you'll take delivery of a 2022 model - the 2021s are all spoken for already...
No, I spoke for it at the right time. Ordering for the 2021 has been scheduled for between mid-January and mid-March. As long as you (i.e., your dealer) get the order in before March 19, you keep your place in line. Once all of the orders are in they start building them and we all find out where ours falls into line. Apparently there is some time adjustment depending on which version you order, whether it has two or four doors, and whether or not you order a big package like Sasquatch.

FTFY Pretty much any options can push it out.

There's no way all the required safety features would fit in something that size anymore. Those days are over.

Also, what "old F-150" are you referring to? My 2019 Ranger is definitely smaller than my 2017 F-150 or even the 2011 and 2004 F-150s I had before it. None of those F-150s would even come close to fitting in my garage but my Ranger does and it's a crew cab 4X4. :dunno

$62k for my "decked out" dream Bronco; $48k for what I could live with as a 2nd vehicle for offroading / camping stuff.

$49k for a pretty sweet little offroad Ranger setup.

Eh we'll see what happens in a year or three.

I dunno, man. There are such things as Fiestas and Elantras that meet the requirements. Lift it up and stick a bed on the back. Mahindra threatened a pickup a few years ago that died on the vine. I think Hyundai has some ridgeline type thing in the pipeline.

It's a bit of an exaggeration and I wouldn't call 2017 "old." I had a first gen ranger. My dad had a fleet of F150s through the 90's, then a second gen ranger, then a Sport trac. I've only walked around the new ones. He test drove one when they came out and hated how big it got.

I worked for Mahindra for a few years and that truck "died on the vine" for a number of reasons. Not the least of which Mahindra forgetting that in order to sell an on-road vehicle in the U.S., it actually has to comply with US safety requirements. In order for them to do that, it would've priced it way above its competition in a flash.

As for Fiestas and Elantras, they're not trucks. They don't have to worry about trying to reach a payload and/or towing capacity in order to be marketable. You can plug an economy engine into them and you're good to go.
