Took some Advil 25 hours after I got my 2nd shot. Feeling better, but not to feeling good. Maybe tomorrow I will be back to normal. 2 weeks to Chinese food, have not eaten out or had take out in over a year.

Ah, this makes sense as to why my symptoms seem stronger for a first dose. Those who already had covid already have immunity, and thus typically have a stronger immune response on the first dose, similar to what others experience on their second dose.

This would seem to be evidence that I already had covid immunity 6 months later.

So immunity results in the same symptoms/experience that you had when first infected. Sounds wonderful, like getting the same cold multiple times year after year...

Immune system response to the vaccine, yes.

But,

1) I had a mild case of covid.

And

2) It only lasted for a day.

I wasn't 100% today, but a lot better than yesterday. No 10 day isolation and quarantine. I'll take the vaccine over having covid. Hopefully these are just a one time deal and not annual vaccinations or anything.

Not to mention, the chances of dying from the vaccine is significantly less than dying from covid. The only way to die from the vaccine is possibly if one was already on their death bed, or from a severe allergic reaction without seeking emergency treatment.

What I was getting at is, whether one has mild or severe symptoms, it seems the immune response will be the same each time one gets a vaccine or is again exposed.

I think it's been stated, however, that the vaccine will prevent severe illness, but not infection, so it would seem the virus will live indefinitely in the population, like colds.

Interesting that you had the same symptoms from the vaccine well after recovering from an infection though.

Since the supply of vaccine is still insufficient (2022), I'm trying to find details about the vaccine production.

My company makes "micro-electro-mechanical widgets" and most of the manufacturing is automated overseas, so for one manufacturing line we can make ~300,000 per day. Usually, the demand is much higher, so we will multiply the manufacturing lines to meet demand and that is the easy part. The hard part is the design and the first line.

I wonder if they have done that for the vaccine? I could not find details.

Since each line takes takes about as much space as the floor space of a Trader Joes, we need space. When this happens we just build a new building in a green field. In fact, we have a building shell already completed just in case business swells.

That is the way that the vaccine works, it triggers a response.

The aches and symptoms are a result of the response, not the virus.

If somebody had it before, their body will mount a quicker response and it's possible that the vaccine will trigger a larger response than a typical infection would trigger.

My sister in law and my friend's partner who are both between 65 and 70 will be getting their shots later this week.

My buddy who is the same age hasn't heard yet.

Yep, I am getting a lot of responding :( My wife has a good friend who is a nurse and she verified we could take Advil 24 hours after. Going to go and say yes to drugs. :thumbup

Did you not take advil earlier out of caution that it would blunt the vaccines effectiveness? I've read there are studies that say you shouldn't take advil/tylonal before getting a vaccine, but nothing about taking after your received your vaccine. Is there some info that I'm not aware of?

Got my vaccine an hour ago. How long before my arm starts hurting?

I was told that it's okay to take Ibuprofin if you have pain - after.

I took nothing for a week before my shot and I have arthritis in my knees. Long week. Waited a full 24 hours before I took anything after. Any only after I was told it was OK by a nurse.

Everything that I've read is no pain reliever before hand, and Tylenol afterward. The NSAIDs being anti-inflammatory may have some impact, especially before hand. Wasn't clear as much about afterword.

I just got back from accompanying my SO to get her shot and I asked the guy and he said it was fine to take Advil, if you were feeling ill effects.

And I gotta say the coliseum was a tight ship, in and out. I saw FEMA, Army, Cal fire, US forest dept, EMTs and maybe airforce(?) all working together.
