Thanksgiving Covid plans... got any?

Johndicezx9

Rolls with it...
The Turkey Breast in a bag thing turned to be pretty good. Like berth said, a tad salty, but still tasty, and just enough... it will be done after a post thanksgiving sammich. Leftover mashed potatoes will be potato pancakes, and then done.

Christmas will be a feast of Roast Beast...

Now I just found out that my 10 year old has a play date yesterday, and now, apparently, this other girl just found out she was exposed to someone who now has symptoms, prior to their play date. So I'm hoping this all works out fine.

As it's been 12 days with no new news, and no symptoms from my daughter, I think we're in the clear on that one.

An officer on my team responded to, and had exposure with, a person who died of covid. Hopefully he won't get it / spread it around our PD.

I watched a scene play out in SF last week with some crazy guy grabbing a chair from an outside dining place and going aggro on Valencia. Watching the cops deal with him stressed me out as they had to hold this guy down while trying to get a mask on him and I'm sure he was spitting all over the place while talking crazy. That's gotta be nerve wracking.

What were you worried about? Kids aren't supposed to be able to spread it - that's why schools were opened back up.

Is the officer in quarantine? That would seem to alleviate concern for the team (unless already too late). Hope the best for all of you, that if anyone does get it, recovers and has super powers of immunity, like you! :thumbup

I'm gonna put my internet jockey hat on and hit you with some research.

When researchers at Duke University School of Medicine asked selected parents in the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area to track symptoms in children who tested positive for the coronavirus early in the pandemic, among the notable answers was this: After 28 days, more than one-third of the 6- to 13-year-olds had shown no symptoms at all.

There! Hardly no symptoms at all.:party

Later on,

One of the largest studies, led by Brown University economist Emily Oster, PhD, analyzed in-school infection data from 47 states over the last two weeks of September. Among more than 200,000 students and 63,000 staff who had returned to school, Oster reported an infection rate of 0.13% among students and 0.24% among staff.

Later on,

so, schools just opened in september, right? with no major cities having in-person enrollment.

therefore an infection rate 0.13% after two months.

for reference: US after two months from 15Feb-15Apr: ~631,000 cases, or ~0.18%

please correct me if my math is wrong.
