Thanksgiving Covid plans... got any?

A long time ago, I was out having T-day with my Mom. Spent the afternoon, etc.

But, in the end, on my way home, I was still hungry so I stopped in to the local truck stop.

And, it was just right. It's a great place to have T-day dinner alone because...well, pretty much everyone else there is too. So there was a little bit of camaraderie among strangers.

Well my plans are out the window.
Mrs Budman has been sick as fuck for five days.

Took a Rona test ..And got a negative on Friday, but all things seem to be Covid like except no high temperature. Doing my best to support her without being near her for more than a moment.

However if it is Rona I will likely join her or potentially I may have given it to her without knowing I had it. :dunno

She basically stays home and I am the one out going to client meetings and grabbing grub.

She will do another test on Monday.

Feel bad. She is whining and crying like a dog with a broken leg. :(

Fingers crossed for both of you. :(

Does she have anything temperature wise, even like a high normal in the 99.something° range? I'm pretty sure my wife got it from me, but she never cracked 100°, I don't think. She was a little higher than normal, in the 99° range. I had some days like that too.

It has creeped up this evening.
We are both sort of weird in our normal is 97.

She is now up to 99.

Getting food in her and dogs cared for is affecting my cocktails. (Joking)
After some soup and a grill cheese I saw her sit up for the first time in 48 hours.

Working on my pampering skills.

I hope everyone gets better Budman.

Few weeks ago, I suddenly spiked a fever. Just bang. Fever.

I tested, came up negative. Video talked to a doctor. It was gone in a day. Just came and went, no idea what it was or where it came from.

Safeway, a Jennie-o Turkey in a bag thingy...

These actually aren't bad. A little bit salty for me, but still tasty and edible.

Mostly idiot proof, cooked from frozen, takes a couple of hours.

I know that last time we made one of these, when we reached time, it was still under done, so best to stick a thermometer in one after it's thawed a bit in the oven so as not run in to any surprises.

The first time, it worked fine.

We have a Butterball breast in the freezer that can be cooked from frozen (they all can), that's our backup for Thanksgiving if our plans fall through.

Couple of years ago Vons (Safeway) was handing out flyers all about roasting a frozen bird - a full bird.

My normal is often around 97. Something° as well. When I had covid, it ranged from the 99°s to the 102°s. Most days it was in the 100°s or 101°s. My wife's was in the 99°s every day. Her's was never verified with a positive test, but mine was.

Now I just found out that my 10 year old has a play date yesterday, and now, apparently, this other girl just found out she was exposed to someone who now has symptoms, prior to their play date. So I'm hoping this all works out fine.

Yeah, first time trying one... last year I tried Turkey cutlets and they were kinda blah. It's only 2 of us this year, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Above all I like to play.
Traveled 1600 miles to Texas in my truck camper. The only contact has been with the gas pump, mask on, and gloves. Have done 3 weeks of not seeing anyone or going out. The daughter is due the first week of December. This will be our first Thanksgiving and Christmas with them in 8 years. They have been living in Switzerland and before in Baltimore, timing just has not worked before.

That sounds fantastic. Congratulations on getting it worked out this year!

That actually sounds promising to me. I was worried that I had it earlier this week, but now I'm pretty sure it was just some bad food. Hopefully your thing goes away in the next few days too.

Oh man Dennis, that's horrible.

Fingers crossed it is not CoronaVirus.

Maybe the "normal" Flu?

Did you guys get flu shots?

We both got flu shots. First time for me in 40 years.
She does so every year.

She seems a smidgeon better today. She is a bit testy. :laughing

@ Bojangle both of us have a little lower than normal temps too. High 97’s for me and 97 flat for her.

Hope by Thursday she is OK to eat a bit.

Well, dad's doctor told him no visitors/visiting. I'm still getting a covid test tomorrow morning, but I won't be able to see my parents for Thanksgiving :mad

Thanks all for the concern.

@Matt... I know. That is what sort of makes me believe it is. Turns out that the test she took is self administered stick up the nose. Did she get it done adequately? :dunno

To me that sucks. She did too. The whole process raised her anxiety a bunch. I for one would be much better off having someone else do something very uncomfortable than doing it myself most of the time. Certainly for something as important as this.

She actually got in the shower today because she felt like she was going to get bed sores. When I went home to get the dogs out she actually had a conversation that did not include crying or moaning.

Still doing well on Oxygen levels and not complaining about it being difficult to breath so that is good. Still low grade temp. Varies between 99 and 100.

This definately throws a wrench in a lot of things as I am not able to work enough to keep up and I was already struggling and she is the CFO and does all the billing etc for our firm. She said the stress of not being able to do those things right now is racking her brain.

I still feel normal... had a good workout yesterday so that is good but hell it can take well over a week to show up so.. :dunno

She is going to get another test.
