Last time up we timed the "endless 3rd class slabs" to the summit. It sure felt long, but it only took 15min. From looking at a picture, I think that part is about the same distance as the climbing part. Fun climb, and a big day.Snake Dike is also fun, except for the long approach (hours) and the long arse march up the slab to the top and then the long walk back down to Happy Isle.
Hey All.
Larry and I are climbing in BL today, starting around 5:30 or 6. If you are interested in joining us, PM me. I will not be checking the thread as I have lots of work to do before we climb. I was out with the flu and there is a mountain of work to do, haha.
-Sallie.
P.S. If you guys want me to send you a pm when we plan on climbing, I would be cool with that. I don't get on BARF everyday, nor is it usually for looking for a climbing partner, lol, but my pms go to my normal yahoo acct so I am alerted when I get one from here. I think Larry and I are going to try to climb a couple of times a week, Mon and Wed or Fri prob. -S.
if you guys head down to sunnyvale sometime, ill get some climbing in with you guys. i just joined pg last week, but have been climbing at city beach for a while.
Sunnyvale PG? My buddy and I climb at 7:30 AM tues/thurs, but if you need a belayer hit me up
I climbed many years ago but no more. My right wrist and both ankles have been surgically reconstructed and are full of plates and screws. It's very painful to smash or pinch skin between rock and sub dermal screw heads.
I used to climb at Castle Rock Park by four corners, UCSC quarry before the cliff face fell off, East Pinnacles and even Yosemite and Tuolumne Meadows. I did the Yosemite Rock Climbing School some 25 or so years ago. I was never into climbing gyms or man made walls. They don't simulate a real climbing environment at all.
fwiw, i have a really nice rack.
