Rock Climbing

Snake Dike is also fun, except for the long approach (hours) and the long arse march up the slab to the top and then the long walk back down to Happy Isle.
Last time up we timed the "endless 3rd class slabs" to the summit. It sure felt long, but it only took 15min. From looking at a picture, I think that part is about the same distance as the climbing part. Fun climb, and a big day.

Hey All.
Larry and I are climbing in BL today, starting around 5:30 or 6. If you are interested in joining us, PM me. I will not be checking the thread as I have lots of work to do before we climb. I was out with the flu and there is a mountain of work to do, haha.
-Sallie.

P.S. If you guys want me to send you a pm when we plan on climbing, I would be cool with that. I don't get on BARF everyday, nor is it usually for looking for a climbing partner, lol, but my pms go to my normal yahoo acct so I am alerted when I get one from here. I think Larry and I are going to try to climb a couple of times a week, Mon and Wed or Fri prob. -S.

I'm looking for you SKAG!
I climbed many years ago but no more. My right wrist and both ankles have been surgically reconstructed and are full of plates and screws. It's very painful to smash or pinch skin between rock and sub dermal screw heads.

I used to climb at Castle Rock Park by four corners, UCSC quarry before the cliff face fell off, East Pinnacles and even Yosemite and Tuolumne Meadows. I did the Yosemite Rock Climbing School some 25 or so years ago. I was never into climbing gyms or man made walls. They don't simulate a real climbing environment at all.

:thumbuphardcore! i agree with you. ive climbed outdoors a good number of times and it's completely different. indoor is only good for building strength and endurance so you can do the real stuff outside.

I smell blood.........
Rock climbing is for the insane...or the motorcyclists, take your pick

I've been climbing at PG Sunnyvale for a while now...As with GpToyz, Tuesday's and Thursdays are pretty packed, but really social.

I've been climbing for nearly 14 years...and actually had one of my first jobs at Plane Granite Santa Clara...Its a great way to spend some time...especially outdoors...meet some new people, have a laugh. That is really where the butter is...But climbing inside is really fun too, and lets face it, you have to be really motivated to climb outside in the dark, or the rain for that matter....

For all of the people wanting to try, or trying to get back into it, Climbing is awesome and it'll change your life forever...just like riding motabikes real fast...hahah:thumbup

I probably know the likes of many of you who climb at the PG's, but not by the BARFisms and code names here though...so if you recognize the pics, say hi on a tuesday or thursday...i'm in the bouldering areas in Sunnyvale. Oh, I also just built an 07' GSXR 750 for the track...! So lets ride too....!!

Here is some old eye candy...:twofinger
