No but he is 'in talks' with a major Hollywood production company, and will provide the Nielsen ratings for his previous shows as soon as the contracts are signed.

Good job missing the point. :thumbup

Dmitry made a legit vaporware example

face it - we're all VERY frustrated by Speed's death spiral & all the "no deal yet" situations for US broadcasts of SBK, MotoGP, & AMA Pro road racing

Do you remember when MTV played music videos? :dunno

You do realize they still do on thier channel called MTV2 or YoMTV or some whit like that. Music videos are pretty dead anyways. A better comparison would be remember when ESPN 2 covered AMA!!!

look someone is going to pick up MOTOGP that same network will probably pick up WSBK. AMA on the other hand is going to be the red headed step child. If it was a TV show it would have been tossed a long time ago.

F1 went to NBC and their new all sports channel (the old VS Network0, they have retained Hobbs and Matchett. Varsha is staying with SPEED/FOX due to their coverage of the auctions around the country and his desire to remain in North Carolina (from what I understand), and I never heard what was happening with Will Buxton.

Buxton will back as on-site reporter. Leigh Diffey will take Varsha's spot.

AMA needs to sign a contract with British EuroSport, and then the American TV companies need to start carrying that channel. Problem solved.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but do you think there could ever be a collaberation of sorts between the two series? It might open up some unique oppurtunities for both. Ah, never mind; I guess it is stupid.

How would they collaborate? One is a national series in the US and the other is a national series in the UK (albeit with one round in Assen). I don't see the affordability of co-sanctioned events or anything like that. As it is, AMA is the "undercard" for 2 MotoGP and 1 WSBK rounds. But I don't know that they could do anything similar with BSB, which is a better series BTW.

just thought that both could be considered a ladder series to WSBK. The BSB boys could come over here for some special events and spark some interest by mixing it up with the AMA boys and vice versa. The AMA guys would get some great exposure to international competion and ride some great tracks, they could come to agree upon and set new standards in terms of technical regs for the bikes and maybe do some cost sharing on the development.

But it wouldn't work. It's a dumb idea. Sorry. That's what I get for thinking out loud! :p

I don't know about BSB but, AMA is broke as is. Riders can't find sponsors so, no one is going over the pond till these 2 things change.

Yeah, reality set in real quick. It sounded great at the time! I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. It's a shame because these guys deserve better.

Story on Soup is that DMG has gone to the manufacturers and other industry companies, tail between their legs, head bowed, asking them to come up with sponsor monies to fund a TV package. Would love to be a fly on the wall when they go to American Honda.
