Exactly, dipshit must think taxpayers should absorb the credit card processing fee. :rolleyes

Fuck that puto.

17.5%? That's a hell of a processing fee.

I don't deal with pennies, I just throw them in the trash or on the ground for whoever wants to make the effort to pick them up.

I'm the guy who picks them up...if only for the free wish.

Well pennies I might not pick up, agreed. Oh wait BRB, counting the pre 81 pennies nao!!!!!

I pick up and save coins from cash transactions all the time... Usually amounts to a case of beer once a month.

Yeah. But they have merchant agreements that charge no fee if you select a gift card.

Easier to take your jar o coins to your bank.

As usual, there is two sides to this story and we're only seeing one side. What would motivate a trained law enforcement officer to grab a person and choke them out?
What did the arrestee do?
My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the guy took a swipe at the officer. There is a moment when both the officer and the arrestee are hidden behind a wall on the sally port.
Dooshes get treated like dooshes.

If only there were video. Maybe video from multiple angles, that would be even better.

The clerks were in the wrong.

Yeah, he was pissed and took it out on them, but his penny's were legal payment so they don't legally have a leg to stand on by refusing to accept them.

I could not see anything in the video to support the guard choking him out, yeah there was a short period where the video didn't catch the action, but to believe that he did something at exactly that position gives him far too much credit for knowing the line of site of the videos.

IMHO, he said something to the guards that pissed them off and they took it out on him. If anybody knew what the line of site of the camera was, it would have been the security guards...

The city is going to have to pay.

Legal tender yes, but no one is required by any state or federal law to accept it. Hence no bill larger than $20 after 10:00pm, or $100 bills not accepted. Not taking your pennies. Get over it.

Poop man was angry, irrational and took it out on the clerk. The dude in the uniform acted the same way except he got physical. The county will pay. Question is will Poop Man accept the award in pennies? :teeth

OMG, you are a fucking GENIUS. They should pay the settlement in a truckload of pennies. :laughing

I worked registers part time at the Naval Post Graduate School exchange store when I was in high school for a little bit, never once had to count a sealed roll.

Interesting, were you a Federal Employee, or was the store just a contract agent running its own operation for the Navy?

Rolls with it...

Gubment check, IIRC, with Dept of Defense on it, but mostly "The Naval Post Graduate School of Monterey" was what I saw... and when I'd go cash it at the bank new tellers would always look at me cross-eyed for some reason.

It was a typical one page application to fill out, but I was told about the job by a friend of my father's. The only test I was given was to see if I could count change back. I could.

I did it for about 3 months, but since I didn't have a car/bike at the time I quit when I found a job closer to home that I could walk to.

When the money would get picked up from the store it was protected by federal police that would patrol the area when it was more open. (This was late 70's, it's all sealed up now.)

Doesn't look like he does anything at all except push through the door. The guy grabs him from behind at that point.

He'll get paid, and rightfully so. Hard to argue a choking to unconsciousness is necessary when somebody is exiting the building and is in front of you. Regardless of how much lip somebody is giving, that's not justification for what is essentially assault. You can kill somebody that way.

It isn't covered in every article, but the cops then charged him with assaulting an officer. Charges were later dropped.

Dirty, and totally par for the course.
maybe they decided that shitting on someone who chokes you out isn't assault :dunno
