Poop jokes aside, the guy was choked until he passed out and that's when it happened. That's pretty fucked.

Nope, to count out his drawer, the clerk has to unroll and count every penny.

:laughing

What a shit show.

your ability to just say bullshit and believe that it is true just because it came out of your mouth, is remarkable. I think you get undue amount of credit around here because your delivery is so confident. But some of us know that you really don't know what you are talking about.

As usual, there is two sides to this story and we're only seeing one side. What would motivate a trained law enforcement officer to grab a person and choke them out?
What did the arrestee do?
My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the guy took a swipe at the officer. There is a moment when both the officer and the arrestee are hidden behind a wall on the sally port.
Dooshes get treated like dooshes.

certainly one should expect consequences if one is a professional shit disturber, but getting choked out is beyond the pale.

The carotid restraint is a valid use of force technique and, when applied properly, will not cause injury. It doesn’t sound like this guy is claiming any injury as a result of the use of force.

I didn’t watch the video and it sounds like parts of the incident were blocked from view, but use of the carotid restraint may have been reasonable in this situation.

Seems like assaulting a security guard would be right at the top of the report.

Nick, barring a vocalized threat of violence, is there a reason for the guard/officer/whatever to follow and engage?

Sure. If he’s asking to leave the building, they would follow and make sure he leaves. If he doesn’t leave, then he could be violating trespass laws.

My wild ass guess is the kid was being a smart ass and refusing to leave, the officer tried to physically escort him out, at which point the kid pushed/punched/whatever because he didn’t think the officer could legally put hands on him. Some stuff happened and he shit himself.

The vid isn't perfectly clear with every angle but...

It appears yes the guy got all indignant and lipped off the staff/officers.

It appears he was in the clear, was on his way out thru the lobby and almost out the door with back to the officers when chokehold and doodoo deployed.

Maybe he took a swipe at the officers or some verbal threat that warranted arrest before he began to exit.

Doesn't look like he does anything at all except push through the door. The guy grabs him from behind at that point.

He'll get paid, and rightfully so. Hard to argue a choking to unconsciousness is necessary when somebody is exiting the building and is in front of you. Regardless of how much lip somebody is giving, that's not justification for what is essentially assault. You can kill somebody that way.

It isn't covered in every article, but the cops then charged him with assaulting an officer. Charges were later dropped.

Dirty, and totally par for the course.

I respect your opinion on this matter. However, I strongly suggest you watch the video. While there is about a half second where you can't ee what happens, IN MY OPINION, the guy was walking away when the security guard decided to choke him out. And then did so.
