His era of full on dominance (ie. getting a "back of the grid" penalty and passing everyone like a pissed off teenager to win) is fully over. I think he will still win but the era of dominance is done.
He's been so incredibly dominant for so long, I don't know how his ego will deal with settling for 4th place the majority of races. It'll be very interesting to see if he can adapt or if he just unravels. I'm betting the latter especially with a support system like Julian and Puig.

Rossi did it tho, Ernie. It's a question of if MM has humility now and the ability to be the caterpillar for a bit. We've seen this before with world class athletes. Bethany Hamilton and Alex Zanardi. Zanardi is a recovery BEAST. Two of my heroes.

I'm def going to assume that MM has lost his ability to intimidate anyone near the front of the grid. It'll be interesting to see if that impacts the results if/when he finally does come back. It'll probably be hard to distinguish that from the effects of his injury. But that's what forums and podcasts are for - it should make for lots of fun discussion.

He has lost that intimidation, right now. But, if (and yes, it's a big if) he comes back and charges to the front again, it will return... until he gets hurt again (*knocks on wood*).

Damn, it almost sounds like Honda is looking for a way to get out of Marc's contract by blaming him for his injury, rather than being injured in the scope of his duties. There must be some kind of clause in his contract that forced him to lie about the situation. This could be the writing on the wall we've been waiting for as far as his future in motogp

Even if Marc comes back and wins, even dominates, they’ve lost a large amount of $ in the process. It was only time before people really started covering their asses
