Having worked a number of AFM events at THill over the last 6 years the only helicopter I've seem show up is Enloe from Chico. But keep in mind that if Enloe is busy Reach has a bird in Yuba City and it could cover.

OKAAAAYYYY. Good to know, but who covers Buttonwillow ???

I was never able to find any way to do it other than by an original piece of paper. No fax, no email. Sorry, I don't remember how long it took for my membership card to come back. I think it was somewhere between one and two weeks.

Maybe I missed it, but whats the reason for choosing Enloe over Reach? The fact that Enloe is closer and probably will respond to THill? I'm curious because it seems like Reach covers a lot more local areas (though, no agreement with CalStar).

I spoke to enloe about signups and basically, they want you to sign up with the provider who is most likely to cover you where you are likely to need services.

They would tell people to sign up for other providers if they are out of the chico area and not riding thunderhill. Basically, a non-profit fairness doctrine. why should they gget the $25 - $45 if you are going to use another service.

They are happy to cover each other, they just want some valid reason for you to sign with them.

BTW, renewals are fine over the phone.

Did anyone find a provider for Buttonwillow? Reno?

they're certainly worth at least $25 each.

When I spoke to enloe about it, we went through the list of providers and they all appeared to be private companies which did not offer a similar program.

Basically at BW you are at the mercy of your insurance and the local private companies.

If you find out anything different, please let us all know.

This is from Reach's site:

Who are your service partners?
Currently, REACH partners with Enloe Flight Care, in Chico, Calif.

Found it in the faq section here:

So you're covered with Calstar and Reach if you have Enloe.

I joined enloe because I found out about it for Thill trackdays. They have an unofficial agreement with CalStar which probably extends to reach, but I wouldn't count on it.

According to enloe, they prefer that a subscriber sign up with the provider most likely to cover the areas the subscriber is in. it seems like the providers in the network all cover each other so from a subscriber perspective it doesn't matter, but enloe doesn't want people who are not in their area or participating in activities in their area to sign with them INSTEAD of signing up with someone else.

Enloe has an agreement with Calstar where if you sign up for Enloe only, you will get Calstar's coverage as well. Calstar covers tracks like Sears, BW, Willow Springs. I have confirmed this via telephone call.

Everyone keeps asking about Buttonwillow, Kensaku posted this in the first post of this thread. He said he confirmed this via telephone.

Ok just did a little homework. For those of us in N. California it seems that ENLOE is the best choice. Their "Service Partners" that would effect us include both Calstar and Reach.
Calstar alone gives us 5 tracks we're covered at: Thunderhill, Reno-Fernley, Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca, and Infenion.
Reach only covers 2 tracks: Infenion and Thunderhill but goes as far north as Yreka with a 150mi radius around Redding. Reach seems to be the only one that covers that far north.
I JUST spoke with CALSTAR and they DO NOT cover Willow Springs in Rosemond. That's what they said. Heads up.
Enloe is my choice for sure.

I hope they have an aggreement with Reach Medi Plane because those are the gents that scrapped me off the pavement somewhere in Berryessa and flew me to Santa Rosa Memoria Trauma. They charged over $10K of which I had to pay $2 out of my pocket. Took me a year to pay it off. These deals are good, cheap insurance.

Being a paramedic, I can tell you this is a great deal. I am signing up right away for myself and my family. There is no better deal. Please tell your friends.
