Do You Cry?

Thanks for all of the honest responses. I often wonder if I have a "Time of the Month"? Because, sometimes, I will not be affected by ANYTHING, but other times a sad story on the news will get to me.

For example, yesterday my coworker asked me "how old is Hank" (my male Pittie). I said "almost 10 y/o"-- right then it hit me; Hank is getting old, and I walked away sobbing........

I think that I must be having a male period???

I think it's emotionally healthy for a guy to cry.
I have a friend who's really into music, and a particularly beautifully done song will have his eyes getting all shiny. I think that's cool.
Being able to feel things is good.

The other day, I was reminded of the time my kid bounced her dome off the sidewalk when she was a toddler. I can still remember the sound it made. She turned out fine, but remembering that moment made me tear up a little.

I tear up when I see an athlete achieve a lifetime goal, I know how much effort goes into that.
I teared up when I heard Kobe's wife talk about the things her daughter will never experience.
Some movies get me, can't help it. I used to have more control, but I can't seem to suppress the tears as well as I used to when I was younger.

Some of you talking about tearing up at divorces....are you sure it wasn't when you got the lawyer bill? :twofinger :cry

No you just love someone.

I will say that the older I get the more waterworks. Having raised the kids now makes many many children either reminders of mine own or proxy grandchildren.

I get tearful about dead relatives, patriotism and the sacrifices of others and those rare occasions when people do great, important and courageous things.

I flunked stoic.

My wife insists that men have emotional cycles, just like women do. I don't know the psychology of it, nor the biology, and they have fewer tells then women's cycles, for obvious reasons. Seems to make sense though.

Put on a movie with a scene involving family and I’m a water works. It’s really bad to the point Erin pokes fun of me.

Recently went to the memorial service of someone I barely knew. Wept watching all the loving photos of him and his family play above the altar (Methodist church). So weird. The friend I went with said, You're emotional, as if to say crying was okay. Everybody later said it was a touching celebration of the dead man's life. It sure was.

Was he protecting Frodo?

After protecting Frodo and helping him succeed in his quest, he went back to the shire and studied his ass off so that he could get accepted to Notre Dame where he managed to walk on and play for the best college football team in the nation.
