Do You Cry?

I know that most men never want to admit that they cry, and perhaps they don't. When I think of "Macho" Men, I imagine that they would never cry.

I, on the other hand, am at the other extreme- I cry at the drop of a hat. I cannot watch movies with animals being hurt/endangered, because I will be a sobbing mess. I cried (like a baby) while watching the Will Smith movie (I cannot recall the name- I Am Legend?) where he and his dog are alone in a world with these flesh eating monsters. When his dog died, I cried NON-STOP for the rest of the movie.

I heard the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Isreal Kamakaiwo`ole this morning on my way to work and I became a sobbing mess.

I am not a depressed person, but I am emotional.

What about you?

Yep. Music gets me, movies get me, lots of stuff does.

Heck, yesterday I was reading an article about one of my favorite shows and why it's so good, and I just barely caught myself.

I've always been extremely emotional, and growing up, I hated it, it used to get me picked on a lot. Now, I'm grateful for it, even though it sometimes makes difficult conversations a lot harder.

That Iz version of Somewhere over the Rainbow is some emotionally wesponized bullshit though. I just can't with that song anymore.

I think the last time I cried was when a girl I was infatuated with for years unceremoniously dumped me after a couple months of dating. That was about 12 years ago.

I've maybe shed a few tears here and there, but not like a full-on cry. I'm pretty stoic at work, but sometimes the trauma and tragedy you see in the emergency room can get through even the hardest of hearts.

I don't know what it is because I know it can be a good release of frustration and emotion, but I guess I keep the ol cork pressed in pretty tight.

+1 on Amazing Grace, especially when done by bagpipes.

I wept and sobbed during my divorce a lot because of what it meant for my kids. Think that was the last time.

Yeah, I cry.... like a little bitch when I do.

Very rarely.

Yesterday, many times because yesterday was the anniversary of my Mom's passing and today would have been her 91st birthday. So yesterday was a pretty emotional day.

I didn't for a Long time. I probably went a good 10 or 12 years without a drop. That time included deaths, births and weddings and nary a drop.

Then I got divorced and balled at least once a day for months. The experience showed me how shut down and walled off I had become. It wasn't easy for me to accept how emotional a person I really am. Learning to not be ruled by emotions but also not to try and crush them has made life much better actually.

Warning: Do Not Engage
I cry when I'm just frustrated and don't feel things will work out but they always do so later I know I was just in a low place. Or if I'm irrationally upset at the world.
