What does "okay" mean? Meaning it would have been private and they would have kept their jobs? Then yes, it would have been okay. How do you think your friends/family/employer would feel about you if everything you said/did were posted online for them to see/hear? You'd be shocked if it affected a relationship or two?

Well, tweakers have a different set of rules, so for them, I don’t know. They’re obviously too stupid for their own good.

Sensationalized reporting fishing for an outraged audience. They committed the offense of wearing safety vests when sitting in that motorhome. Anchor lady was really stretching to find issue with that pic.

Send the crew to sensitivity training and give them a slap upside the head.

Or, send a strong unambiguous message to the rest of the workforce that this behavior won’t be tolerated whatsoever. Two problems solved. The assholes are gone and those who might contemplate similar behavior will probably think twice.

Rolls with it...
It’s one thing to crack a joke to the people around you during a solemn situation, but it’s just stupid to post it for all to see....

so, youve used this type of humor yourself but just didnt take pics of it.

What kind of behaviour was it? Should it have been tolerated? Should you and your buddies been terminated? Are you an asshole?

its just cause they demonstrated poor judgement and posted the pics?

youre no different then them

It's because they brought widespread negative attention to their employer and the community. Maybe you're a union guy and are impossible to fire, but out here employers really don't like it when an easily replaceable peon publicly shits on the entire company. I'm currently unable to understand how you're not able to see this aspect. Can you explain? Are you super special and think you have a right to employment no matter your behavior?

I respectfully disagree. Big difference. They got fired and I didn’t. But hey, now they have plenty of time to think about how unfair life is.

Trump posts more offensive shit than this guy, and people give him a pass even though his standards of behavior should be infinitely higher. Makes no sense to me.

An employer has a right to fire employees for breaking their code of conduct. However putting a flowerpot on you head isn't worthy of statewide news coverage singling you out as an example of Abhorred Behaviour.
You would have thought that were caught having sex with a corpse with getting this kind of coverage.

I see, its okay as long as you dont get caught or bring negative attention to your employer or community.

showing your colors now.

It *might* have a bit to do with the way you seem to hold a super unAmerican view about the employer/employee relationship. If either one does something the other doesn't like, peace out. It's that simple. We're not even in the ballpark of discussing rights. They did some tasteless things and were dumb enough to make them public and now they need to work elsewhere. The formula is very simple.

Possible tasteless photo of the dead cat but that wasn't enough to make it newsworthy so there was a need for more material. Flowerpot on head and wearing a safety vest while sitting in a burned out trailer completed the package.
Like when news reports on a car chase and mentions "speeds reached as high as 85mph". Yeah we all drive at that speed daily but car chase alone doesn't sell the story.

You guys have to think about it from the perspective of the people in Paradise. Small town, maybe enough that almost everyone knows someone who died. We're in our cozy homes fat dumb and happy, but there are probably some people freezing their ass off in tents right now eating out of a can. Losing income, homes, friends, a lifetime of photos, it's just not something to be publicly rude about without some sort of cost. Losing a job doesn't seem remotely outlandish to me. And isn't there some irony there? Outrage about the outrage when all they've lost is a job?

I’m different because I DIDNT POST A PIC ON THE INTERNET FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE TO SEE AND JUDGE!

Duh. Use your head for something other than a helmet stand.
