I knew it was fiction from the beginning... and as a closet writer I appreciated the story, the style and the "feedback" immensely.

I don't understand why an apology would be necessary for the entertainment you provided to a forum which has many "entertainers' plying their trade.

Writing provides catharsis, and has done the same for me. What I found most profound about your story was how similar the Jocelyn character was to my 3rd wife... :shocker

Bottom line... whatever your reasons for beginning and ending Cold Shower as you did... some of us actually enjoyed it, and those that didn't obviously don't know good writing when they see it.

Don't stop, and like another said, this is an interesting foray into a new form of interactive storytelling...integrating the audience into the plot...

I'm not trying to win over or placate anyone with repeated pleas, I'm replying to comments made to me with my side of the story. If there is another way for people to know that, I'll do that as well.

There is too much made of the phrase "there are two kinds of people in the world" I used it as a literary emphasis and perhaps a tired cliche, but if I really believed that people can be categorized into two groups, why am I still talking? Why are you? I used that wording not to insult anyone, but to heavily praise one person... If I said "She's number 1!" would there be people saying they were offended because they didn't like being Number 2?

Oversimplification is something that can never be done, only felt, and I know that every letter I write affects everyone in profoundly different ways. It's why your opinion of me is so completely formed over one mistake I made on the internet. That is an oversimplification that I feel, but you don't.

It only sounds like repeated pleas because, I'm taking the time and effort to explain, and the explanation is not the more internet familiar "Dude, let it go"

The words I write are not a testament and excuse for my guilt, they're a sign of my need now to respect and strengthen a shattered trust.

Ironically, this is something I learned from the answers given to me here while writing Cold Shower.

Oddly, that I can recall, I never read "Cold Shower" before September of last year. I remember reading a lot of the moto related threads though, and while I didn't regard them as complete bullshit, they were fantastic enough that I believed quite a bit of embellishment was involved. In the thread above, I believed something took place similar to what was described, but the exact dialogue was not as written.

Are you really serious? Facebook is where I can be funny with my close friend's in one sentence. Our cat's account belongs to my wife, who writes those Haiku's and whose asked me to write two of.

You should see the way I wrote for work, it wasn't anything like Barf or Facebook either. I don't speak the way I write either.

I actually think the cat facebook thing was kind of cute, she isn't prone to creativity like that very often. If you'd like to speak to her directly, i'll give you her contact information in pm, She works for Genentech.

I knew that in coming back, the only people that would follow as closely as the one's who offered support, were the ones who would say I was a waste of time.

i don't really have an opinion of you, yet. like i said before, i only know what i see. the reasons behind the actions are yours alone to know.

my posts are more of a response to your new comments (apologies, explanations, etc) than any pre-formed opinion. if a brand new screen name popped up, and offered me such a golden opportunity to join in on the conversation, i would.

and i think too much emphasis is being placed on the story "Cold Shower". whatever knowledge i have of you is a sum total of that story, and the accident situation, and assorted other bits. the CS story, in and of itself, is absolutely nothing but a story. i read some of it, but not every page or post. doesn't matter to me if it was real, with names changed, or a complete fabrication.
the entirety of your deception is what catches my attention. it boggles my mind to think of deluding people for that long.

again, i hold no ill will towards you. my posts are more directly related to the post you presented yesterday, which (to me) smacked of self-preservation. mayhap i should have let sleeping dogs lie, but like i said, it was a slow work day.

When it suits you the internet is a mass of disinformation, when it doesn't suit you the internet is the oracle of truth, honesty and fact.

Search Facebook for my longer posts when I qas being serious when my neighbor was in trouble. Tell me that didn't sound like "me" because when I text message, I've been known to say "where u at?"

Now people are coming out and everything I say is gasoline on the fire. I'll stop now and save whatever comes for Skipolinni's pizza and beer doesn't burn.
