I believe that will happen.. not this month... but it is being discussed.

This was a topic of discussion at the former wall yesterday, along with who is responsible for paving and maintenance of this road?!

One of the questions was who do we contact to push for things like the amber alert signs?

So here we are in the right place, who do we love up to so we can make things like this happen?

I've had the chance to see them on 101, 880 and 17...all within 24 hours. :ride Big secret helmet smiles when I see 'em. :teeth

they are out here in Sacto too.
As I ride by I usually point and throw a thumbs up for good measure.
Thanks for all of the work you do!

Don't be that guy.
i think the amber alert sign makes us want to be more courteous riders.

I agree. I do double-check how aggressive I'm riding when I see one of those signs.

Agreed. It makes the courteous more so.

I do not think it impacts the asshats, we need to continue to put some pressure on our side as well.

+1, when I first saw the signs a few months back while riding, I felt like I was the center of attention and that all the cars around me noticed me as was the intended purpose of the sign, but also felt like they were probably judging me as well so I played it nice. :ride Boy did I feel special though for a few moments!

Def a good sign to have up. Thanks to Budman and Silversvs and whomever helped to make them happen.

Budman, anything we can do to help (support May is Motorcycle awareness month or to help get the "lane sharing is good for everyone" message out there)? send an email to someone or something?

The message boards are getting some attention from Mr. Roadshow:
May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, an annual campaign funded through grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the Highway Patrol. Motorcycle fatalities decreased 29.6 percent from 560 in 2008 to 394 in 2009 (data on 2010 will be out later). The 2009 decline was the first since 1998, marking the end to an 11-year, 175 percent increase.
And he even mentions teh BARF, along with a certain obscure South Bay forum:
The San Jose CHP will be holding [a motorcycle safety event] on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its office on Junction Avenue. The CHP urges all riders to sign up for the California Motorcyclist Safety Program before beginning to ride. This is a basic course for beginning motorcyclists as well as more experienced riders interested in improving their skills. Go to www.ca-msp.org/ to find the location nearest you.

A couple of other good sites to check are www.bayarearidersforum.com and www.southbayriders.com.

The message is definitely getting out there as 3-4 vehicles (including a semi) gave me some wiggle room while splitting :ride through traffic today. :shocker:thumbup

Meh, I was pinched-in on the way home yesterday by a douche in a red Mustang that apparently was butthurt with the thought of me lane-sharing. :|

This morning on 85, right in front of the sign, saw at least 3 sport bikes lane share at about 65. Totally unnecessary :(
