I am so gobsmacked by the quality of this item that I thought that clearly, while it was still on sale, BARF needs to know. :party

As our old anodized aluminum omelet pan had the anodized finish fail I bought my wife (well, actually "us") a commercial grade carbon steel pan that you could use to pound fence posts if you wanted to and you can use metal utensils/spatulas on it and it just laughs at you.

I feared it wouldn't be as "easy release" as they claimed but boy was I wrong.

We each made our own omelet this morning, and I'm hardly an "expert" but this is, without a doubt, the best pan we've ever used.

Omelets released easier than ever in the pan that we barely used a tsp of oil in.

Amazingly, at least making an omelet, the handle does not get hot which is just bizarre.

On super duper sale in case you want an after Christmas present for the house. :thumbup

Happy Boxing Day.

I have both expensive Caphalon anodized and the carbon steel. I only use the carbon steel for omelettes. If you do it right, nothing sticks, you clean it with a paper towel, and it makes super egg dishes.

My recipe is to get it hot enough to see the oil shimmer and then dump the egg mix in. It seems to slightly sear the bottom of the omelette which keeps it from sticking. As soon as the egg is in, I turn the heat down and constantly move the pan in a circular motion until the dish is cooked.

Unfortunately, I have to hide the carbon steel when Peggy is here, she like to soak pans in water to clean them. :laughing

Why didn't you tell me about the wonders of carbon steel pans before! :laughing

Indeed, treat them like Cast Iron skillets; seems to yield similar results with half the weight which is nice. :thumbup

:rofl

I actually did a Facebook video on them a year ago or so.

The best and most rewarding was getting my nieces and nephew (9,7,6) each a set of boxing gloves and sparing gear (chest pad and head gear) then watching them go at it for 30 minutes and my sister cover her face :laughing

Gave my Dad a M12 Milwaukee cordless air pump. He was excited.

Gave my Mom a dog camera to watch their puppy when it’s sleeping in the laundry room. She was pretty excited.

I’m a terrible gift giver but I did good this year.

My Mom gave me a few bucks for Christmas. :)

I brought my Keystone K-109 8mm movie projector (made in 1950) over to my adult kids house to show movies my Dad took from 1958-1962 while we were in Japan. It was a total hit with my kids (32, 31 and 29) and my grandkids (3 & 6). This just whetted their appetite, they want MORE. I have a huge box of movies to go through, we just showed a few.

They want to see the movie cameras that took these (I have both) so I will bring those and describe how it was done.

It was GREAT fun for all.

Got my Dad 4 freshly made meals a week for the next three months.
Tired of him eating mostly frozen food.

Received .... a video of grand kid joy.

Some pics too.
Example below.

Gave 2 Wyze cameras for white elephant

In return I was to receive 3 of something I already had so I managed to convince the giver not to order them. She and I are each others so it's convenient.
