its great for a mid engine 500hp car for 60k. didnt wow me. it looks like a 2007 f430. the pics in this thread are heavily photo shopped and filtered, it doesnt look as good as those. too me it looks like lazy design work. the rear end looks like a crushed camaro, and again it looks almost exactly like the f430 :dunno

The only major similarity I see is that they have a similar profile, which they also share with most mid engine cars. The f430 was very rounded and swoopy, while this care is much more angular and aggressive in it's design. I see a lot more similarity to the new NSX to be honest.

How do you know that it doesn't look as good as the photos though. Unless you were at the launch event I kind of doubt you have seen it in person.

No Green. Don’t want now. :x Yeah, I think I like it better without the rear wing. The brown is interesting. Kinda makes it look like a sleeper. Pretty cool looking. I’m sure it’d be blast to drive.

Remember this concept?

its called social media. search hashtags of the c8 or corvette theres all sorts of pics out there. jay leno even posted a few and i think hes doing a youtube thing today reviewing it on his channel.

which brings up something else i didnt think of. Can spyker file a lawsuit against GM for the c8?

Not a fan but need to see it in person. Love the front, the rear not so much. Looks like a cross between a Cobalt and a Civic R out back. The interior is a bit odd as well, particularly that oddly tall/weirdly shaped steering wheel. Do like the front and the engine bay and I'm sure it's going to continue to be a ton of performance for the money.

Do like the white one above without the spoiler. Chevy does awful spoilers. They just look like cheap plastic slap ons.

Looks gorgeous without the wing

Agreed. Take that white car and put a set of HRE P107 in brushed clear on it and it would look wicked. In that side view, you can really see the Corvette DNA in the profile, but updated to be more modern.

Got to say, if this is the orange in real lighting, I take it back, very pretty shade of orange.

Probably not. The car is named and marketed as the corvette stingray. C8 is just the generation marker.

Plus as much as I like Spyker, they seem to constantly be in a some kind of bankruptcy purgatory state. I doubt they would have the cash to take on a lawsuit like that anyway.

I’m actually totally fine with the interior and think it’s the best part of the whole change. It’ll be a bit odd sitting in a Corvette with just a big firewall behind you and no access to the cargo now, but like I said my first car was a Fiero. And I drive NSXs on the regular at my job.

The squareish wheel seems to be the way everyone is going. Again, I’m already used to that from the NSX. The two big spokes are a little funky, but Corvette has done that before (1984-89).

The real polarizing part of the interior for most is the Trump wall. And I think that will be what I call it from now on, the Trump Wall. But there’s been a history of isolating the driver. The interior refresh in 1990 was “inspired by a F-16 cockpit” and had all the controls face the driver. With a tiny little wall. C5 and c6 has the center stack slightly angled to the driver, but no isolation situation. Then C7 brought back the isolation in a big way. Not a Trump Wall, but the grab handle really blocked a lot of stuff off for the passenger. So much so, that the gave the passenger their own dedicated HVAC control panel on their side. The new Trump Wall is huge. The buttons all along the top give me a vibe of something you see in the latest Porsches.

Did Reli get banned? I can't believe he hasn't checked in to say the front end is ugly and looks like a Toyota.

surprised and kind of disappointed that it's mid engine. despite rumors, always thought it would remain front engine car. gm will probably jack up the msrp like they did on the last gen once it sells out

Probably one of the best things about the car is that so many boomers are pissed off at it being mid engine.

Eschew Obfuscation
Probably not enough will be pissed to prevent long waitlists and five-figure dealer markups.
