I am not doing backflips over it, but it's a direction it needed to go and overall, I like it.

front looks like a BRZ

looks fun though, and you can't see the exterior when you're sitting in it

Mid engine.......'nuff said.
Fortunately I'm not qualified to own a Corvette......I already have a penis.

The new update is definitely worthy of the name.

Lots of people don't like the air scoops (which are actually functional) but I'd wait to see it in person before passing judgment.

I think this will definitely be a winner.

I think it looks great. Looks like the Stingray will base under $60k and have 495hp. Looks like it should weigh around 3400lbs. Pretty nice combo on paper. I predict they'll be a lot of dealer gouging going on for the first year.

And the BRZ looks like a Supra.

You'll always be able to pick out similarities to other cars as the functionality, cost factors and various .gov regulations force designs into a certain direction.

Park it next to a 458 and I'm sure people will point out all sorts of similarities.

Doesn't mean it's bad. Still looks like a Vette and I'm sure it's more performance than most people could really handle.

I’m trying to recall the last GM mid-engine production car. I’m thinking it was the Pontiac Fiero? This update is interesting. I can see queues from the Gen 7, which is cool. Generally speaking... I like it. It’s quite a departure, yet remains faithful to it’s lineage. Looks like a good platform to build on too. Can’t wait to see the 1,000HP fire breathing version. :thumbup

It’s really hard to ignore how much better it is in performance and technology over the current Stingray. After building several color combinations online with the new C8, I don’t hate it. I still think I like the C7’s exterior better, especially the Grand Sport/Z06 widebody variants.

Of course there’s a convertible coming and it’s a foregone conclusion that some performance variants will also happen in the next few years. The “frunk” will disappear to make way for front electric motors and make the NSX completely unsellable because then it will really be the same car just better in every way.

Really debating if I should pick up a C7 Grand Sport now while there’s still ample inventory to choose from along with a fantastic discount.

Yup. A 1988 Fiero GT was my very first car. Interesting that I could come full circle 25 years later.

Interesting that the Stingray’s rear trunk is pretty much exactly what the Fiero had back then. Wide but really deep well.

Another fat piggy. Started using dry weight to make numbers look lower. dry weight 3366. Curb weigh close to 3600lbs+ with fluids and normal options. Z06 will be a bigger pig.

1 step forward. 1 step backwards.

Not worried about the weight. No it won’t feel like an Elise. But manufacturers have been doing some amazing stuff to make cars handle dynamically like they weigh less than what it says on the scales. Frigging NSX is right under two tons and it sure doesn’t feel like it.

I prioritize track work. Weight sucks for consumables and things heating up.

If you're on the street, doesn't matter.

On that note, credit to Porsche for keeping their GT3/RS light.
