Might as well have its own thread....

My random thoughts and predictions:

1. Nicky will be on a KTM in 2017
2. MM93 will win the 2015 MotoGP championship
3. Fabio Quartararo is the next alien
4. Suzuki will somehow podium before the end of the year
5. Redding and Bradl are done
6. I agree with whoever said Ducati needs to trickle down the GP15

1) Maybe but I doubt it.
2) Nooo wayyy! Goes to either Rossi or Leronzo.
3)Don't watch moto 3 but I have heard good things about the guy.
4) Yep, I think so.
5) Bradl was sadly done last year, but I think he might just stick around because of his nationality.
6) I hope Parmac gets the GP15 next year!

1. some rumors are saying that already. i think he'll be a test rider but i just cant see him racing it.
2. 5 hobo dollars says nope
3. ppl said he was going to win the 'ship this year. he's doing about as good as MM's 2nd year in 125s. but Fabio is in one of the best teams, MM was on a dying KTM. i think he has some stiff competition and isnt outshining any of them handily... ie hes not an alien.
4. still hoping for that one. but with HRC working on their issues faster and Dani back, its getting less likely. even Duc is having a harder time now.
5. Redding has a contract for next year. cant confirm anything w/ Bradl... but teams are more worried about the tires and prob wont want to change riders.
6. i bet Pramac will get GP15s that have been updated for the Michelins and Avintia will get what the Andreas are on now.

The most significant thing so far is #5 from Robert.

Tires are going to throw a spaniard in the works, :laughing

Rossi has the best chance of adapting quickly, but nobody is going to want a noob on a bike that has no parameters or data with a new tire, it's like three steps backward.

That tire may change the entire flavor of the next season.

I cant imagine at the GP level throwing a new tire and equal electronics packages at the teams and then having a new rider, especially a rookie GP rider, try and sort that out.

Seems like a few teams will look at 2016 as a throwaway year to a degree? Or at least having more realistic expectations.

Redding certainly has been disappointing.
Maverick has not!
I think Fabio can turn the second part of the season around- and vie for the title next year. Doesn't seen like Kent will be sticking around.

Zarco takes it- but does he go anywhere? Rabat's lack of dominance and bad luck hardly build him up for a move upward next year so... I don't see much in Moto 2 moving up- Lowes to Ape? Zarco? Rins has shown great rookie learning, but he's not setting it on fire. Marquez :rofl

last time Danny Kent was in Moto2, he only scored 16pts. he was on the Tech3 machine which is still not very competitive. so im sure he'll really be looking to join a top team, ie riding a Kalex. maybe he'll grab Zarco or Rabat's seat.

Someone needs to crunch numbers and see what happens if MM wins every race from here on out and what it would take for Rossi/Lorenzo to win if that happened.

Whose got that calculator chops?

if MM won every race and Rossi finished 2nd 4 times and 3rd the other 5 races, theyd tie on points but MM would win due to more wins. 5 or more 2nds would give it to Rossi with no chance for Jorge.

if MM won and Jorge finished 2nd every race, Jorge would win. two or more 3rd places by Jorge would allow MM to win, unless Rossi scores 4 2nds as above.

1. Bradl at KTM in 2017.
2. Rossi for title
3. Fabio needs to win a race in Moto2 first.
4. Wet race Suzuki podium
5. Redding will get one more year because the team owner is a personal friend
6. GP15 next year for Petrucci for sure, maybe for Yonny.

And it's all possible. Here I thought I was just a dreamer.

Here's to pedobot throwing wrenches into the mix.

Why does everyone think good guys in moto3 are the next phenoms?

Maverick is the ONLY moto3 rider to have good success moving up

Miller, Marquez, salom, that German dude, French Rossi, none of them do shit

There's no evidence doing well in moto3 means you'll do well anywhere else

I'm not sure everyone is saying that, but my musing is simply because he meets my threefold fluid criteria:

1. He's not Spanish;
2. Moto2 has become somewhat meh;
3. He's under 17.

thats really it tho. the anglo countries really want any non latin rider to be the next coming.

danny kent is not under 17. hes 21

edit, you were talking about fabio. meh, we will see. the prmeir class is riddled with good junior class racer.

outside of marquez no junior class champ has done much since dovi

Moto2 was off the wall nutty for several seasons. It was due for a lull but I'm sure the big excitement will return soon. All these series run in cycles as talent and teams move around. I still love just watching the Moto2 bikes go through the corners because the racers are so rough on them.
