Ya'll have a TV in your garage?

yodaisgod

KHAAAAAN!
I replaced my loft TV with a LG and so this 46" Samsung is now in my garage.

yeah, yeah, yeah...paint the walls. I will. All this is just temporary and I just started this adventure of organizing a garage. I never had my own garage before so humble beginnings my friends.

I know the picture looks sad, but I have to start somewhere. :laughing

As you can see, I barely have any tools as I never had a place where I can wrench, fix stuff, do projects, etc. I don't even have a shop stool yet.

I'm sure I'll go through various reconfigurations of my garage over the course of the next year.

I thought about putting one up since I have a home gym now but then I think it would be just too distracting.

Need a garage fridge too!

I originally got a garage tv back when I first bought my home and wanted to watch Speed Tv while wrenching. Now it gets used to watch some old moto movies or listen to music.

Looks good. Congrats. :thumbup the tools look good. Looks pro. Is that a B&D MATRIX drill? They DO sell a tire-inflator attachment for it you know.

And no I don't have a TV

The hubby and I put our old TV out there two Christmases ago when we bought a new one for the living room. Little did we know how handy it would be for the pandemic. YouTube workouts have kept the Covid-19 (pounds) at bay somewhat. Now you need to get a heater...we have big radiant one. Total game-changer for my yoga classes!

I have an old 47" (I think) on a swivel mount. Just picked up a Klipsch soundbar + woofer, sounds pretty damn good in the garage without being obnoxious out in front of the house.
Music, sportsball games, racing, mechanical videos, Price Is Right, etc.

I am going to have to go on record as vehemently against this foofoo dressing up of "garages".

I understand that spaces are limited, but a garage should be a dirty, loud, dangerous greasy place full of not so subtle fumes that can make you dizzy over time. A place where engine parts, metal shavings, sawdust and motor oil mix together to mimic a motorhead's vision of heaven. Toolchests, workbenches, indescribable mechanical parts to long forgotten projects lining shelves, spares to bikes you had 20 years ago, these are the stuffs garage dreams are made of to me.
The pictures above looks like a home office built in a former garage (RIP). NTTAWWT

To each their own, do what you need with the space you have, just realize that "the garage" is losing, and the home office/yoga studio/crossfit bro home gym may be winning.

Go ahead, post some pictures of Canepa's surgically spotless porn filled workshop and say "what about this you grumpy rigid luddite?!?"
Yeah yeah. Well I don't see an ab roller or stairmaster anywhere.

The OP on this needs time, like 20 years of working in a garage.
Although this space looks like an office, there needs to be one big greasy lump of old project in there.

You'd love my garage then. It's an unholy mess right now. :teeth

I have no wall space for a TV. It is all posters of past Moto heros and jam packed with scoots, yard equipment, guns and shit.

Mrs. Budman wants her car inside... ain't happening. :p

My house is brand new. It was finished in October so yeah...it needs like 20 years use before fulfilling it's destiny as a greasy old shop.

However...I rather have a nice clean space that I can enjoy being in and not look around in disgust at a disorganized mess. :laughing

Never had a TV or radio in the garage. The garage is where I go to get away from both...

I like radio for this reason. My garage is filled with sharp pointy thing or hurty metal objects. Better I not look anywhere but it's fun to have some audio stimuli.

Good luck with your project. Given the computer and printer, looks like your garage is multi-tasking, eh? If you expect to start doing a lot of projects out there, you should probably pick up or figure out some covers for that equipment.

I've never even considered a TV in my garage. I've got music in there, nothing else. But I've never been one of those people who likes having television on constantly in the background. Just too much noise, distraction, and mental clutter for me. I get enough screen time through work and the bit of social media I do.

Mostly though I need serenity just to calm the voices. :laughing

TV in the garage? Doesn't that make it a rec room? :dunno :laughing

Bluetooth soundbar with old iPhone 5 streaming either music, or news, or sports....

No, I do not and that seems honestly like a weird idea to me, but it seems like you are more developing a sort of Jr. Man Cave than a Garage (a garage is where you store tools and use tools to work on metal based projects, wood working happens in the yard.), in which case this seems like an appropriate use of equipment.

Needs some girly pics on the wall and a sportsball thingy of some kind. Also needs beer fridge and meat freezer.

I will get covers soon enough.

I had the builder put CAT6 all over the house and a network port in every room including the garage.:teeth

The iMac is 10 years old (still flies as it has a SSD) so it's really there for music, internet browsing when doing projects, etc. The printer is actually from my wife's office that closed down two last month. She is still employed and needs to still print big reports. They are paying us $75/month for electricity to offset it so that's nice.

I guess Jr Man Cave is another view. :laughing

As for pictures/posters.....eh...not really my thing.

Wine/beer fridge is in the future though.

Yeah I have a 50" TV in my garage...

... but that's because it's brokified and I haven't taken it to a recycling place yet.
