IMS in San Mateo, Low turn out

I always go 'cause my dad likes going, but i never understood the point. Me paying to go see their product? Wtf is that

It's like people that wear big ass advertisements on their clothes, etc.

Sure, i like seeing bikes as much as anyone here, but having to pay to go see it isn't something i care to do. That, and the show has sucked exponentially more each year.

There's a cost associated with pulling something like that together. Just like anything else, entertainment isn't free. Look at it this way... your time is worth something... you're paying for the convenience of having all those motorcycles there all at once.
And again with the "it sucks" comments. Care to elaborate? What would make it suck less?

would like to learn more about corner working for AFM. Best way to learn tracks and meet good folks. Any free TD's in return for cornerworking?

If you're interested in more information, here's a link to the AFM's website on Cornerworkers:

http://www.afmracing.org/content/view/21/39/

At the end of the year, all the racers donate gifts for the Corner Workers. Last year, I donated 3 gift certificates for a TrackTactics track day.

Triumph was actually out with a full display LAST year...I should know..I sat on that red Thruxton personally at least 8 times..and threw my leg over a purty purple street triple! And of course ogled over "ma famiglia" of bikes...the bonnies...I luvz my Bonnie...cannot wait to see Triumph again next week!

I agree...people need to turn out or it will die.

I am looking forward to seeing all the motogp bikes on display and take a picture on one..but PULEEASE...I want an umbrella boy and not umbrella girl.:x

truth. gf and i were both drooling over the 675r last year at san mateo, and the base 675 the year before in long beach.

107.7 the bone has been giving away tickets sporadically and everytime the line is busy or I can't get through so I'm guessing I wont be getting in for free lol.

You can buy at the door right? Not really sure what that weekend looks like, with family coming into town and what not, so I don't want to commit to a ticket and then not be able to go. I've always wanted to go to something like this but I always have something come up. Fingers crossed for this time!

Yeah, last year was a bit quiet (lack of representation) but I might still go this year. Seems like it's quieter and quieter each show over the years but hope it's hopping this year.

Nothing's ever like the old days... someday, these will be the old days... so how cool is it that we can enjoy the 'old days' now?? :)

There were never any good old days

If I didn't have to work I'd make a day of it. If my gf weren't in town, I'd stop by for a bit in the morning.

I hope it's around next year.

Bring the girlfriend along, Silly! Tell her you want to share something that matters to you with her!

A good turnout is one way to ensure more participation from vendors and manufacturers in the future.

I'll be there working at the AFM booth, and I'm looking forward to seeing all the awesome new bikes!

If anyone's ever given thought to racing in the AFM, come on by and see what its all about! :)
I can honestly say that racing in the AFM is even more fun than I imagined it to be! So come on out, ask your questions, and join us next year! :banana

I m going to check out the new hondas and the new kawasakis.

This may dictate what bike i will be upgrading to. Whether i go 600, 500, or 300. :D

Can only go sunday though.

Same whine different year :laughing

I don't think it has gotten worse in the last hanful of years. I go because it's always a good time to see BARFers and shit.

Being that I've only been in the bay area for a year, I had no idea about this show. Glad I found this! I live right up the street, so I will very likely try to go. May even bring the bike and see if I can get into one of those rider sessions I saw someone post about.
