Kinda seems like, if the mask is mostly for preventing you from infecting others, the exhaust flap would negate that.

Aren't you the one that pointed out a partially closed window lets in less air than a wide open one (or something similar)?

Me? Don't recall that, but I love analogies, so it certainly seems like something I'd say. And of course it's true.

In a word, no (answer to OP).

It sounds like coronavirus is like rhinovirus. Here for good with periodic outbreaks. Based on what I read, i don't even think a vaccine will ever stop it.

I got my hair cut yesterday. My barber was onto some yarn where Bill Gates was responsible for funding research on a super-vaccine, so the Corona was invented in Canada (create a superbug so you can create a super-vaccine!) but made its way to China. So I read up today and discovered that Gates has been warning about pandemics for years and pledged 100 million to fight this one.

I love me some conspiracy theories.

Stocked up on toilet paper and other supplies last night at Costco.

Upside: I'll be selling individual rolls of TP for $$$s when the entire nation is locked down.

Downside: The chance of exposure at Costco is likely 100% so I'm probably infected. :laughing

I think it is going to be a big deal, potentially overwhelming our hospitals for a period of time. Not much you can do except isolate, wash hands, etc.

I expect that once it starts spreading, colleges are going to have to close. It would not surprise me if we all lose a year from an economy/education perspective.

Agree, I think its going to hit here first as well considering we already have a case and no one has any idea how that person contracted it. I think in 2 weeks we are going to see a whole bunch of people around the bay area coming down with it.

I ride BART every day so I am considering it an eventuality that I will probably get it. Literally considering buying another street bike to commute on so that I can avoid the Train.

Agreed.

I heard this morning that an entire state getting quarantined is on the table...I think that California would be a likely candidate, all things considered.

Well, I'll be starting a road trip to deliver my wife's TSX to Miami on March 3rd so hopefully they don't shut down the Interstates! :laughing

Indio, Las Cruces, Austin for three days, New Orleans for three days, old town Orlando for 2 days, Miami for 11 days then get on Flu Concentration Tube and fly back to SF.

Hopefully I survive. :thumbup

So incoming/outgoing freight trucks stopped at the border carrying everything including food supplies?

Don't see that happening at all.

not panicking but prepared to ride out of the danger zone and keep on going.....all the way to ...wait, there will be no safe place really. I guess I'll remain at home with my dogs and hope for the best.

I think shutting down all travel within a State would create another crisis, don't you?
You and I can agree on that, but, again, do you think they'll care at the Federal level? (Trying to keep this non-political).
