COTA is the only logical USA round

Laguna- good track terrible embarrassingly bad facilities
Indy- terrible track, good facilities
COTA- acceptable track, great facilities

Dorna cares about money, not logic.

Rossi running a race simulation? Or perhaps Old Man Experience + Sandbagging all of the Misano practice time he's been putting in?

This will be the pivotal race, IMHO. My head and my heart get so muddled during MotoGP season that by this point it's impossible to separate them. GOOOOOOO VALE!! :love

Yammie copying Duc :laughing

Duc's race pace isnt great. QP will prob be interesting though.

Rossi was running Hard/Hard for most of FP2, while Jorge was on Med/Med. it looked like Jorge's times fell off by .3-.4 really early on a new rear tire. Rossi improved the whole session though.

new track surface is better than expected according to Bridgestone. no one is even graining tires.

I'm surprised they aren't running sponsor logos on the winglets. With all the attention it's getting, you think someone would be smart enough to want that spot.

Rossi would have the first sponsored winglets because he's extremely marketable. When it happens the market will be flooded by eBay/Chinese winglets.

I already have paper plates glued to my bike and I can safely say I've knocked off 0.03 from my morning commute.

Iannone is 5kph faster than the first non-Duc. but thats prob the soft tire giving him an edge in acceleration since the speed trap is on such a short straight.

Rossi in 5th for FP2. eh, yeah. I'll take that. About par for the course for him prepping for race day.

This.

I've been to Laguna since before it became a GP stop, and the facilities always sucked. When I went to Indy the first year it opened for MotoGP, I was impressed with their ability to handle a large crowd, and good facilities all around the track. The Indy track itself was never that impressive.

I'll have to plan on a trip to COTA. :thumbup

I went to cota this year and the facility is really nice. Plus it's more centrally located and newer. It really is the most logical race to have here. The market just isn't there for more than 1 race in the states.
