This round is gonna be Tombstone, Wyatt Earpp, OK Corral and Young Guns 1 & 2, all rolled into one. Rossi needs the win to extend points, JLo needs the win to gain back points, both want Marquez to be second and in between them but realize the threat with Marc hanging on the back wheel on the last lap. And Marquez.....no f***s given. He wants the win and those other two can do whatever they need to.

Interesting pre-race....very cordial all around. Calm before the storm? FP2 will be the foreshadow round...

:laughing

This so works for Rossi. Winnerbin doesn't care about anything but Winnerbin, Jorge is now under deep pressure, which he just doesn't seem to handle well. Of course he could also set four lap records.

the Lowes/Aprilia pre-contract doesnt seem to be going forward for next year. Bradl will probably stay now.

Rumor has it from MotoPod that Lowes may be offered a test rider contract for Aprilia and move to the Gresini team in Moto2. If he continues to do well they have their eye on him for the GP ride in 2017.

I don't like a miller to VDS move, because I like the idea of the VDS team being a pipeline from moto3 all the way up. HRC strong arming miller onto it sort of fucks that up, and will continue the trend of guys tying to skip moto2 or stay one year.

Having a team that will bring you all the way up is exactly what young riders need to mature and develop, and would make sure VDS gets top quality moto2 riders on that team

Mark VDS hasn't really shown anything substantial this year especially compared to LCR, so why would HRC move money there?

miller is contracted directly with hrc.does he have a choice where he goes?honda can put him where they want.

rider dont perform as well when they are in teams they dont want to be in. so HRC is probably taking him into consideration. but id bet u are mostly right. its likely HRCs decision about where he rides.

MarcVDS is going to be a more stable team. the owner is wealthy and theyve got lower-class teams to groom riders incl AM. LCR has done amazing things w/ sponsorship. but just when u thought they had it all together, their primary sponsor gets hit w/ a legal battle.

Cal is an experienced rider and HRC's #2 guy for developing the non-Marquez chassis. i expect his results to be significantly better than Redding's. plus, Cal can continue this sort of development role at LCR even if Miller leaves.

I can't imagine MVDS is happy about getting Honda strong-armed into taking Miller. They pooled a lot of resources into getting that ride and partnership with Estrella Galcia to create their own Moto3-GP pipeline, I can't see them taking kindly to getting Miller forced upon them.

Maybe Honda will run MVDS two bikes next season, maybe even full factory packages. Seems to me LCR is over holding Miller as a financial liability with all their funding problems this year. I just can't imagine Miller taking a factory ride away from Rabat at MVDS and their owner being chill about it. Billionaires tend to get what they want.

With Aspar's financial problems maybe HRC sees MVDS as a more stable team and is giving a second bike to Miller there, that is the only way I see this going down. I think its very likely Aspar will be out of GP by 2017 unless they partner with a factory and become a defacto satellite 2 team like Pramac or Tech 3. With the 2017 rule changes everyone is going to look to partner up once the manufacturers are forced to supply extra rides at a fixed price. Up to 4 additional bikes per factory, with costs mostly covered by Dorna.

2016 is a financial survival season. 2017 is where the real rides and money come in from Dorna. If a team can hold onto their spot until 2017, they will be permanent fixers on the grid with their choice of bikes. That is everyone's endgame and focus right now, it would be so shitty to lose your spot in 2016 when 2017 has "free" money and "free" bikes of your choosing.

Edit: Everyone should do a quick read of the bullet points for 2017. Its going to be a big year. http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/217806/1/ezpeleta-outlines-2017-motogp-proposals.html

It makes sense that HRC has more faith in MarcVDS for the long term.
Isn't that a slap in the face to AM if Miller gets to jump straight to MarcVDS MotoGP, but AM has to go through the Moto2 route?

Calling Miller "money" is kind of a stretch...

I was trying to make that exact opposite comparison, it's not Miller going to MarcVDS that's going to help the team, it's HRC's money to support him and the bike that can help the team.
