Dorna are doing an excellent job. All they have to do is manage a worldwide system of competing social, national, economic and technological interests all of which are in a constant state of interrelated and unpredictable flux. Their achievements in Moto3 are titanic. Their achievements in Moto2 are monumental. Their achievements in MotoGP™ are tremendous if not always satisfying to the fans who contribute nothing to the effort besides a financial input which in itself provides a minor percentage of operating costs. jussayin.

Out of curiosity, how are their motors cheaters?

Because they are Factory 2 option class. Ducati isn't limited to 5 motors for a season, more like a dozen, plus they are allowed continued development on their engine. Also more fuel.

Pair that with their significant horsepower advantage and its become a running joke to call them cheater motors. They can crank out more power because they don't have to worry about reliability as much.

Also the idea being for their "home" races, wild cards, or for certain tracks where they really want to win, they throw in extra juiced up grenade motors to try to sneak a win.

Dovi shredding his rear sprocket at their home GP just added more fuel to the conspiracy fire. Speaking of fuel, Ducati saying their extra fuel doesn't matter, then promptly running out of gas at the very next race once they lost that allotment further pushed the cheater motor conspiracy.

We are mostly half joking when we say "cheater" motors, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

I believe Honda hopped up MM and Dani motors by raising the redline 500 rpm, and cutting life considerably. I wish I had kept track on MM engine allocation, seems like he is close to running out for the season. The way these motors are, they run so lean in so many places that added HP is easy to find, it just costs the fuel needed to finish the race.

Lorenzo's looking really smooth... sad to see everybody getting themselves all worked up for a close race cuz I think Lorenzo is gonna break everyone else the first 8 laps & then cruise home Brno style.

Just got to Misano this morning. Yellow is everywhere. Seen one guy in a repsol shirt, and two AB mechanics. Everyone else in yellow. #YearOfTheGOAT

Wasn't it the Kawasaki the first with aerodynamic winglets? I seem to recall folks making fun of them before Ducati showed up with theirs

Foreshadowed by FP3, Lorenzo takes pole, but Rossi made it to front row. Spoiler Marquez in between.

A Yamaha PR piece mentioned that they'd tried them back in the Checa/Biaggi era.
