That's actually why I find this kind of sad, as it's a reflection of the growing incivility and shifting values in our society. Words matter whether people realize it or not, and every day it seems like we take another step towards Idiocracy

There are many actions by attorneys that contribute to incivility and shifting values, the least of which are the words referenced in the OP's post.

Warning: Do Not Engage
At least more states are implementing Anti-SLAPP law (Anti-SLAPP laws are designed to provide for early dismissal of meritless lawsuits filed against people for the exercise of First Amendment rights. The acronym “SLAPP” stands for “Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation – a phrase coined by two law school professors in the late 1980s.)

Consider me interested. I’m half tempted to ride down to LA on Monday to watch the guy come to court to try to convince the judge not to throw out the case.

The way things spread on the internet, I’d imaging that the courtroom will be packed with people just as bored and curious as I am.

Lawyer is a boss.

Fuck Allstate!

After reading his opposition to the ex parte application, I now feel bad for his clients. Yeah, he fucked up, but his clients have a valid case. His clients are an elderly couple whose house flooded when a pipe burst, and All State is trying to settle for pennies.

Seems the judge shoved bowl of dicks back in front of Hook. Wonder if he’ll use a fork, chop sticks or his hands. :laughing

He's like a Saul Goodman, rage edition.

I lol'ed until I saw that he didn't oppose defendant's motion to dismiss the case with prejudice. Then I lol'ed a little more :laughing

The OSC sure sounds like it is going to be rough on Mister Hook. Not to mention ordering his clients to attend to see the show.

*edit*

I was one of the two lawyers who had not heard of this before today. This guy is a real dummy to act like that, not to mention in Federal Court. I assume the Cal Bar is going to be having a look at this after a call from the US District Court Judge.

I think of two lawyers who are poker buddies away from the case, opposing each other on a specific matter, only to have the friendship sour midstream.

He just looks like a douche...

I'm pretty surprised, and almost impressed, by his gall. Up against a big firm and team of lawyers, and he just gave no fucks. His self-confidence must be through the roof...:laughing
