Isn't the point of the curfew to keep normal people off the streets so police can deal with the shitheels?

Lowering my expectations
Like I called the Police State ( I guess some people agree with me now ) I have said we have been in a cold Civil War for at least the last 4 years, it has now gone hot.

I hope people are taking this seriously. If this does not get under control shortly I fear the damage will be irreparable.

When there is a curfew for civil unrest you better stay home or be prepared for whatever happens if you go out. I know most of you have not seen this first hand but I have. It's scary and I don't want to see it again.

I took a picture of Se Daeang from about 10 feet away about 36 hours before this video was shot in 2010 near Lumpini park, drinking Leos riding around on my Click and thinking it would all blow over.

Bangkok went up in flames shortly after that happened and many people died including foreign journalists who were shot by snipers (reportedly).

It was ugly and 10 years later the country has never recovered. Following the coup nearly 6 years ago to the day the country is still under a military govt.

I do not want to see that here, but I fear that is where we are heading.

^^^ I have to admit that I didn’t think that was possible in this country until I saw the stories of news reporters getting arrested and shot while they were covering the protests.

Roof Koreans are no longer here, after 92 they realized that USA was a 3rd world shithole and they went back to 1st world S. Korea.

Have you been to LA Korea Town recently? That place is so gentrified now. You may be right about the Koreans not being there anymore.

Apparently all of Arizona is under curfew. All of it. They don’t mess around.
I suppose authorities no longer need reasonable cause...

That’s some serious bullshit!

So much for deescalation.

When you have organized mobs looting and burning the time for de-escalation has passed. How about under those circumstances when riot police responding tell you to get inside, you... get the fuck inside?

Let's see. The world is burning, so let’s just pour more gasoline on the fire. Yeah, that’s one way to solve the problem.

santa clara declared curfiew last night as well, thuogh i just heard about it this morning.

it's under the reasoning that we "share borders" with san jose and santana row and another mall are likely targets "credible information" or something similar

at least santa clara had the decency to admit they never plan to end this "untill further notice"

How about if it's perfectly legal to be on your own fucking property during a curfew?
That work for you?

Can I be outside my house (on my property) after 8 p.m. and before 6 a.m.?
Yes.

How about they follow their own fucking laws?

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for from the City if San Jose. That was the main reason why I started this thread. This link clearly summarized what was expected of everyone. San Jose just announced a curfew from 8:30pm - 5am with shit worth of details.

this is all I can find
https://www.sanjoseca.gov/home/showdocument?id=59288

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, David Sykes, as Director of Emergency Services, declare that commencing on May 31, 2020, a curfew be in effect starting at 8:30 p.m. and ending at 5:00 a.m. on the following day, and during which no person shall be upon the public street, avenue, alley, park, or other public place or unimproved public realty within the limits of the City of San José.

This curfew shall not apply to police officers, peace officers, firefighters, or other emergency personnel or civilians engaged in police, emergency, government work, delivery services, or utility services, nor shall it apply to authorized representatives of any news service, newspaper, or radio or television station or network, nor shall it apply to individuals seeking or providing medical care or care for family members or others, or any persons experiencing homelessness.

Any violation of this Order shall be subject to enforcement and penalty as provided under San José Municipal Code Section 8.08.260.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this regulation shall remain in effect until such time as it is terminated by either the Director of Emergency Services, the City Council, or the termination of the local state of emergency resulting from the civil unrest following the death of George Floyd.

Gee I wonder if those officers will be charged for firing on innocents who were explicitly following the law.

We're seeing more than riot tactics, but it can be dumbed down to binary if you like.

From the vid description: "Law enforcement officers shot paint canisters on May 30, 2020, along a Minneapolis street in the Whittier neighborhood during protests..."

Nothing to do with curfew it would seem.

They were on their own fucking porch, dude.
They were not protesting.

People: Not even legally protesting, just watching from their own porch.
Cops: Guess we'll escalate this and call it a riot.
