What does a curfew mean?

So, I just saw that San Jose announced a city-wide curfew from 8:30PM - 5AM for the next 7 days. No other details. Can someone help me understand what the limitations are here? I go out and walk my dog every night at 10pm. Does this mean that I can now get arrested for doing so?

Pretty sure it is a strict interpretation, and means to be in your house between those hours. Walking your dog would not be allowed, but doubt you’ll be arrested.

is this a serious post and question

it means you have to obey police orders and can't leave your house

not sure if you can be on your porch though, in other states you can't be on your porch.

Apparently San Jose is under a curfew...

I’m really hoping that the curfew is just their way of making it easier to break up protests instead of heavy handedly forcing dog walkers to not go outside.

I wonder what they’re going to do with the homeless people in the City during the curfew.

Getting real as a muthfucka in MN, we'll see how San Jose goes.

Oakland seems better behaved than usual.

I just ran to Alameda to run an errand. Oakland was chockablock with police.

I went to Gus' at 17th & Harrison to grab groceries and there were two marked units and an undercover right at 7:30. I had my Sena on earlier around 5:15 when I ran to Alameda and despite having already sent out the curfew text round 4:00 to my phone the music stopped and I was read the curfew message over my Sena. :thumbdown
