Flat iron is one of my favorite steaks just normal grass and grain fed, also chuck steak is another good one from a chuck roll, that’s a secret steak as good as any ribeye, hanger steak another good one,American wagyu is not like real Kobe beef,
It’s like paying $50 for a tenderloin hooker:rofl Vers $400 for a good one
But still free steak is free steak

Ordered some flat iron steaks from Chicago Steak Company as a gift for someone. Wonder how American Wagyu compares to Kobe beef, because they probably are not pampered, and fed beer like Kobe cows.

Thanks for the info, hopefully there are no big surprises, unlike some $50 TL hookers.

Had a couple of nice newyork steaks the other night found them in the bargain bin at andronicos/Safeway

I have to say andronicos meat is no way as good before they changed to Safeway ,trying to cut down on the meat
And eat more fish at the minute, everytime I eat meat I can’t stand the smell of my own farts, that’s when you know you have to cut down on your meat intake lol

I want you to start writing a Weekly Newsletter on BARF. That would be great.

Do your relatives give you any guilty looks for eating beef? Just curious.

Now and then I’m tempted to try beef but memories of the dirty looks and condensation that my friends and family give to those that eat it always come to the front of my mind so I’m still too scared. I wonder if there’s a food taboo that equivalent in mainstream American culture. Horses come to mind.

It came frozen so make sure to defrost it in the fridge a couple days before cooking (if buying). It doesn't look as fatty as compared to what you see in the pictures. Had tons of marbleization. But overall, my friends and I enjoyed it and it was as I remembered eating it in Japan :)

My sis put those on the Traeger for father's day yesterday. Just grass-fed and ranch-finished. With that careful smoke-grilling, they were fantastic. These are what you need to buy on sale it would seem. I read that they come out of chuck but man, they were way more tender than most chuck roasts or steaks to me.

PS Budgie does have the best stories. He's BARF's version of Frank McCourt, an Irish guy who had so much shit happen to him that all he had to do was describe it well to amaze and amuse. Hopefully, Budgie's life hasn't been as sad.

Yesterday was steak and hamburger time. It all went well and everybody enjoyed it.
Cooked Wagyu steak in a stainless steel pan with no oil. Soft tender morsels, yumm.

Grileld southwestern style burgers with home made chipotle mayo, pasilla chillies + white onions caramelized & thin slices of avocado on a brioche bun. Finger licking good !
