Post Race Report - 10/20/2014
First and foremost: Nick did a great job in Round 1 and qualified for his "B" License. It was epic. Even just seconds before his start I was preaching to him on BP, shift points, head down. He nailed it passing the 175 barrier with a 177 and change. Awesome job Nick. :thumbup

My weekend on the other hand, well it was interesting. I'll spare you the travel fun to and fro. Round 1 was a total mess. My shift points were all blown. By the time I recovered from that non-sense, I was halfway through the mile and threw the power down to make up for a crappy 1/4 to 1/2. I made up 30MPH to just squeak through the lights at 180 and change.
Round 2 was another mess. My run and shift points/power was great, but past the 1/2 mile, there was nothing left on the course to run on. It was all chewed up and I couldn't find a line at all. I spun the tire from 160 up to 190, and it got so loose in the end, I just backed out of it as the bike was crabbing and fishing as I went harder, and peddled through the lights at 182 and change. So, 13MPH off my record of 195, and no where near the 196+ I needed to make it stick. Super disappointed in myself.
On the bright side of things, I wasn't the only one struggling with the air and the loose course. Even the best of the #1 riders had issues. The light through the darkness though was Jeannie Pflum, who must now either be in 2nd or 1st Place for #1 Bike. She just rocked her 1000 A bike just missing her record in Round 1 then cinching a new record in Round 2 over 195 on a naked bike. It was freaking awesome to see her run, it was purely epic.
So I have no idea where the points will go. My gut tells me Jeannie may have pushed Ralph out of #1 bike. My lackluster performance may have dropped me from the Top5 Bike pole in points. We will see after it's all posted up.
Bad weekends at the track make for a long drive home from the Mojave. Thank goodness we had plenty of entertaining moments along the way.
Last race of the year is November. It's a 2 day event. Hope we do something special.
