JFC is this junk expensive. If you're out there, and care, please send money. The Well is going dry fast for this year....
I think we are only about $100k short. Le sigh..... :(

Reminds me of the story about how a guy ended up with a small fortune from racing.

He started with a large fortune.

It's getting a bit nuts. We are reaching the end though on the big bike, that sucker better do what it's built for. I'm not putting anything really into the production bike anymore though. Just what breaks will get fixed, no more R&D.

6/2/15 Update

Mucho happenings. Some good, some bad, but so far OK.

The big news is we got a new rig delivered last month. That was big deal and for us as the previous trailer was sold, so we needed living/traveling quarters. I despise hotels. Cant sleep at all in them. So we went and ordered us up a newey.

Next, the May regular season event was cancelled due to rain. So I escaped that one by a hair and still remain in the points start chase in June. We finished up last year #1 in 1650PP and #4 overall bike. So this year I'll try to stay in the Top5 Bikes again and just maintain our Record Speeds in the Mile.

On the BF Bike, still hammering, but we have bodies now. Nicky is still under the knife on his scoot to, so hopefully we will get our program together for June/July on 3 bikes. August SpeedWeek is coming fast to. It's always the same every year, never enough time/money/love/patience/hands.

I'll keep you posted as we start rolling in TimeSlips in 2 weeks. :party

6/15/15 Post Race Update/Report

Well, we are back! After a rain delay to the El Mirage Dirty Mile May Opener, June kicked off with a two day meet that was highly eventful with Lightening Bolts surrounding the lake on Friday night.

Saturday AM, First pass in Round 1, 191.858MPH I was super nervous, even after a bad shift. That's one of my fastest first round first race starts ever, a new personal best. Only 3.5MPH off our record speed of 195+. That's a 196 point start to a great day so far.

Round 2 Pass at 190.010MPH
We ran out of air with a 6250' density altitude and 98 degree air temps. Bike was making 20% less power and I kept it near this mornings speed. Hoping for a cooler air with less density tomorrow for Round 3.

Sunday we ran Round 3 @ 195.352 on a 195.436 record, again, on crappy air with the DA near 5900' and 93º air temps. I missed bumping up the record speed (ours) by less than 1/10 of a mile per hour :( . Overall still a good season opener. Time to come home and we earned 199 Points out of 200. Hopefully that will keep us planted in the Top25, but I think we fell short to rejoin the Top5 Bikes as numerous records were set all weekend by our competition.

Bike ran great, even on no air, we didn't hurt anything, and came home in one piece of trying to tame the two wheel devil between my legs. I'd say that's a good weekend.

July 12th is the next event, then SpeedWeek August 8th -14th.

nice.
Is the riding photo from the timed traps? Can you get your head down more behind the windshield to set more aero?

That was at the start, not the lights.

I'm still to high at the lights though. Below is one I think from Round 1 where I went through the lights at 190ish. Getting lower is hard because the ZX14 tank is so high I can't really lay down as I would like. I'll try a bit more in a couple weeks though by laying my head sideways.

Actually... how Papi was sitting, going through the lights... isn't that bad...

Modifying the tank, and laying down, whatever the rules allow, Is of course something to do... But... Bikes are dirty air (turbulence factories) so... Not like big help is there.
