Here is some interesting small town info. It appears that there was a Fred Eberhardt that lived in Sonoma (5 miles from Boyes Hot Springs) about 70 years ago. He was a COP? I wonder if it is this guys dad or grand dad?

On Tuesday evening following the regular meeting of Sonoma Lodge No. 28, IOOF, the 50- year jewel was presented to the veteran Odd Fellow and our respected fellow-townsmen, Judge J. M. Cheney, who affiliated with the lodge on Feb. 16, half a century ago. Although 89 years of age, Mr. Cheney had never missed a meting up to about three years ago when he became rather feeble and was advised against the extra exertion. ... Two members of the local high school board of trustees have refused to be candidates for reelection and two prominent men of the Valley have announced themselves as candidates for the vacant positions. The members who are retiring are Judge Leopold Justi and Gus Merz. Incumbents on the board are Ralph Hotz, George Cassidy and Fred Helberg Sr. ... Dave Eraldi, progressive young business man, has let the contract for a handsome new home. R. C. Lange will construct the spacious residences on Napa Street opposite the E. T. Casson place. ... Traffic Officer Fred Eberhardt has returned from the flood area, where he was ordered with other men of the state traffic squad to patrol roads to the stricken districts. Mr. Eberhardt states that 55 miles of once lovely country has been washed out and the bursting of the dam cut a path from one and one-half to five miles wide down the valley. Los Angles has sent tractors and steam shovels. ... In order to bring the system up to standard construction the California Telephone and Light Company is to expend $16,207. In the vicinity of the Springs, the improvements will include the sum of $2,553 for the reconstruction of the street lighting system at Boyes and Fetters Springs and vicinity. The street lighting system in this section is now operated as seven separate systems and under the new arrangement the lighting will all be placed on one system and controlled by automatic time clocks. ... San Mateo Hi went home last Saturday night after being defeated 15 to 13 by Sonoma Hi's Class B hoopsters on the local court in one of the hardest fought games played in the CIF League division this year.
