Trailer Thief Caught On Camera!!!!

Boy do I get a kick out of the recreation. It's like a scene from CSI where they take the reflection off a curved surface, transform the surface to a normal projection, and zoom in with infinite detail. I love it.

I'm impressed, not. Good job Alan not escalating things, but please, the guy was never a threat to you and the ass-whooping will be in court, Will you be there to testify against him? What if he pleads out?

Just like the "Alan is my hero" mechanic threads, this is something I've been through 2X, but didn't have pics or a friendly forum to post it on. You're a paper tiger and you know it; no firearm on premises, and no will to use it.

Jeez, the guy will walk b/c he didn't really do anything. Only his past offenses/warrants will get him in trouble, your account is specious at best. But...glad you weren't victimized, but man up and shoot him next time, unless there's something preventing you from possessing a firearm. He charged you in the car: AWD, fight back with deadly force, then I'll laud you bro...NApe

Dude, you are truly a case. I expect great things from you. We need guys who fight for our right to shoot people. That is what guns are for. Of course every now and then we miss and the 9mm goes flying across the street and kills a ten year old, but that should be allowed under self defense. As long as we were in the right it does not matter.

Another citizen for the right to kill people I don't like.

(Of course if Alan had actually shot this guy, we would be visiting Alan in the slammer, as the DA in Santa Rosa does not look kindly on citizen firearm shootings in public areas. Nor does he look kindly on killing someone unless you can PROVE deadly intent on their part.)

But aside from these minor details.......

AWESOME catch!!!! Thanks for posting:teeth ...I've had two Mustang Cobras stolen from me at different times. So I hate thieves. I always wondered what the hell would have I done if I ran into someone stealing my car or whatever item.

I just found your story from a link from SBR. You are amazing! Great job thinking fast.

Last year my car was stolen from my driveway. Nine days later my husband saw three guys in it not far from my house. He could not catch them so I grabbed his car and went searching. It took me 45 minutes at speeds up to 90mph but I caught up to them. The driver is currently in juvenile hall.

I wrote a letter to te DA saying that I went out of my way (like you did) to catch the criminals and I expected a prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. I told him that I would be at every court date. I told him I was ready to identify and testify against him.

When they knew I was serious, they were more serious. THe DA later told me that without my testimony they would not had got that harsh sentence.

Contact the DA and let them know that you can identify him and that you will be at every court date.

Good job and GOOD LUCK!!

Julie

i got to thinkin about this whole story, and i think that if the guy did break into the trailer, and did manage to steal a bike from it (i dont know if there was a bike in it or not) it would probably look like a noob leaving the dealership with a new r1. ride about 15 feet and dump it :laughing

yeah it would suck because of the damage...but that would be one rewarding sight:p

good job on reacting quickly and with a camera Alan, you rock:applause
