Sunday fun trial up at the grow ?? Could go out and set sections then ride together and score each other.

Where's the grow? I've been trying to find a place that doesn't have rain in the forecast for Sunday and not having much luck besides Patterson (Frank Raines).

Hopefully the forecast will change by Sunday. Really going to miss Cow Pile, that single track through the ferns is one of my favorites!

Yeah bummer on the weather all around this weekend Sid. I'm supposed to be riding Forest Hill with a friend on Sunday, but if plans fall through I'll for sure head up to help out.

What date are you thinking for the actual "fun" trial?

Dont think it'll be ready for an actual fun trial, but we did cut about a good mile or two of trail today. Found some awesome sections and overall good stuff weather was on and off rain sun rain sun. Cleared some poison oak out a couple rock gardens then sprayed them down with brush poison to keep from coming back. Francesca spotted a mountain lion as we were leaving, she thought it was a bobcat at first then described it, "little bigger then a full size dog, long tail, brown/orange color and moved like a house cat" I said that's no bobcat but a mountain lion. It was going up the hill on our neighboring parcel, wow crazy !! So lets ride this coming weekend I'll set some sections or we can do it together Sat or Sun what's best ? I'll invite a couple other riders.

Looks like Sunday will be the day to ride, let's say 9 am at the grow as I need Sat to finish setting up and clearing the sections.

OK, I'll start talking to the fam about it. It's a long weekend but I don't think we have a real plan. May try to stay over a night depending on what they want to do....should be a real blast. How many peeps are you inviting? I'm guessing the usual group (M+K, B+E, A+M)?

Would love to come up Sunday and help/ride, but need to check with my friend to see if he still wants to go to Forest Hill that day or if he can move it to Monday.

The grow is in Angels Camp or Copper?

We'll be up; just for the day on Sunday. Try to get there by 9 but may be a little late, should be a great day to ride with traction galore!

Awesome, Luke should be epic conditions, clouds and overcast and semi wet virgin dirt. Should have about ten riders even Jeff and his son Max will be up. I'll be setting sections on Sat and finishing up the loop.

The ride is still on for this Sunday, calls for rain but more then likely just light rain with occasional breaks with it clearing out by noonish. Ive got a new cell carrier so will check back here on the board and those that have my # text me for updates. Last chance to ride in wet conditions for the year come get your mud on !!!!

Epic ride today at the grow, rain postponed the ride until 1pm but still got out and rode. Jeff and his son Max, Mandy, Erica and Bryce showed up for a solid three hour ride. The loop Francesca and I cut out covered the property pretty well with strategic areas it passed by with rock out croppings. Rain made for superior traction in the dirt but rock were super slippery but dried out once the sun got a chance to shine on them. We made four sections in different locations all advanced to hard intermediate, with easy by passes for less skilled riders. Bryce had us hitting some steep wet rocks reaching us skills, all about the momentum and drive before the obstacle and legs gotta use those legs. Overall great weekend at the grow now I have to tend to the poison oak I'm sure I'll get from all the trail maintenance and cutting. Let's do this another time Yo !!

Sounds like a fun day! Bummed I missed it but was able to tear into my 690 trying to figure out why I'm still getting water in my oil. Have a week long ADV trip in June so gotta figure it out before then.

Looking forward to the next event at the property, gonna be great to ride there again!!!

Pretty fun Kraut cup this weekend, weather was about as nice as you could ask for; windy and in the upper 70's with blue skies. Dirt was good just about everywhere with the streams in full swing, entry road to the property was a little muddy and one guy got his RV stuck on the hitch trying to get out.....all said and done a fun weekend.

Made a couple of mistakes in my first loop that hurt my overall score; killed the motor on section 3 for no good reason (went from a 2 to a 5) and missed a gate in section 8 (stupid) and went from a 0 to a 5....ouch. Did well on section 1 all day (2,1,1) which was an EXP line so felt good about that. Didn't die on section 7 although I did go over the front trying to wiggle off a rock. Those rocks were pretty good sized...and steep. Cleaned section 9 once; Robbie said he only had 7 cleans all day on that one even though it was and INT line?! Never got through 10 very well but did have fun overall.

I am enjoying the ADV line and am finally starting to feel ready rather than overwhelmed by it. A good challenge for sure but INT would be boring. Donna and the girls had a good time goofing around, selling lemonade and getting out of the low elevation heat...Finally didn't get stuck in hell traffic on the way home and made it in just under 3 hours....took us 4 1/2 to get up (yuck)

Rocky is in a month, should be more of the same. See you all at that one for sure.

Good report Luke :) There were some tricky INT sections and seems like I took more points on those than the EXP lines. I 5'd Robby's section by trying to go to fast and front wheel dropped in a hole almost identical to what happened to Sid right before me.

I beat Grosser by 1 point LOL, we were joking about it afterwards. Dan King with the 9 final loop was very impressive.

It was a good trial and was nice to get out of the heat like you said.

Like you two said great event, forgot how much fun club property is to ride on, those rocks are amazing. I too starting to feel comfortable in the Adv class, and having fun not just scared...lol. Docs want to operate but don't want to rehab for a year that will suck, at least I can ride....lmfao. Going up to the grow this weekend will probably ride Sat morning at the crack of dawn until around 9am before it gets to hot.
