I totally sympathize with him but banishing all street parking seems like a gross over-reaction. It's going to lead to the opposite problem: petty vindictive neighbors who rat out quiet, well-meaning vacationers who happen to have an extra car there, because they have a grudge against the rental owner.

Better systems are already out there. Divide the city into blocks and let each residential block opt-in to a permit system. Each residence then can buy annual passes for $80 a year. Limit the total amount of permits for a block such that complaints are kept to a minimum.

that's the neighbor on my left. She rents out rooms to her church. Always a random family living with her.

the others are completely filled with "Apple" employees. De Anza students are driving around in M5s and 7 series'

I have an old friend that lives North shore, with condos along her back fence line. She suffers from condo visitors parking in her driveway and walk thru her yard back to the condos. Many years of dog poop because dogs can't poop on pavement? Tourists feeding black bears, because they are "cute".

We have a cabin in northern Wisconsin. We're in a very small community of about 8 cabins. One of the neighbors thought it was cute to do the same...

and then the bear ripped her door off and rummaged through her house while she was out of town.

Bear tastes good, problem resolved. She won't be feeding any more bears either

I can't wait for this to bite those home owners in the ass, when the vacation rental owners dump the market with hundreds of homes and drive down property values.
