"Sorry you can't come over to dinner as that would be three cars." :wtf
I doubt that it's police officers cruising around looking for violations, it's probably all driven by neighbors reporting violations.
Just stay on good terms with your neighbor, otherwise things will get ugly!

Not at all - at least with the people I know. Most just don't like the assholes in the middle of the night pissing or puking over their decks into our own yards where our kids play.
GAJ actually may have meant "two different vacation rentals" that phone each other and come to dinner. I can easily see that happening, two families of five for example.
Who is the ticket issued from? I mean, what if you don't pay, will it appear on your driving record?

If I lived there I wouldn't want to see a different group of guys with their beer kegs pulling up every weekend.

bench warrant
$2000 fine is a ridiculous amount of money for something so minor lol

That's probably how they're paying for 6 code enforcement officers, instead of, maybe 2 for the size of the city. If they are issuing administrative citations, the fines are civil and the whole amount goes to the city, unlike criminal fines where cities get very little.
I am all for using the monetary value of the fine to deter bad behavior
Personally, I think most fines should be structured in a similar manner.
Not at all - at least with the people I know. Most just don't like the assholes in the middle of the night pissing or puking over their decks into our own yards where our kids play. Not fond of used condoms and beer bottles on my grass most every Saturday and Sunday morning. Or people parking on my grass, breaking sprinkler heads weekly. I've come home from week long work assignments and have found my driveway completely filled with other people's cars even.
I’ve got no problem with people who come and rent quietly, politely and respect that they’re in a residential neighborhood.
Easy to criticize unless you live here and have to deal with it constantly. We’re hardly a bunch of smug elites – there are plenty of those here though, admittedly. I’m not rich enough to live in their neighborhoods (just a blue collar joe) but it does impact everyone living here negatively.
In this case it is not bad behavior. It's an unreasonable amount of money put in place by shitty rich people that feel now that they're there, it's done, and should never change, evolved, or be enjoyed beyond whatever they decide. But hey, this is the modern world, and how we opeate in America. Screw other people, what we want is most important, we need to use money power and influence to keep the less haves away the hell from us haves.
Also fines are meaningless if you're say, rich, and over-kill if you're poor. a $1000 fine could bankrupt a poor person anda rich person would laugh at it.
It's a terrible system.
I’m all for a system in which the penalty is percentaged off your worth. That way the penalty is equally applied
