SF moto thief arrested 13 times

I will be damned.

So John did not make that shit up.
Must have read the book. :thumbup

:laughing:thumbup

more of a thing/term back east, I guess, maybe:
Red diaper baby
More generally, the phrase is sometimes used to refer to a child of any radical parent, regardless of that parent's past partisan affiliation (or the affiliation of the child).

wasn’t anything negative about it ... sort of like saying what part of the world you grew up in, “where are you from?” kinda thing ... just something we said about each other or ourselves. the joke would be someone holding that against anybody. :dunno:angel

anyway, no, I was not a red diaper baby ... :toothless

Yeah, Kornbluth was a noted stand-up comic in SF in the 80s-90s. He wrote Red Diaper Baby and Haiku Tunnel for one-man shows at the Marsh Theater on Valencia.

Having 30+ yrs, as a LE officer in the great state of Kalifornia, I could write a book on this topic, but......

DA isn't going to do anything. SFPD can't do anything. So what's to be done?

Hmmmm...

The DA said he is a veteran. Not sure if that was a "war" veteran though.
Maybe try to get him into PTSD therapy at a VA hospital?
Is kleptomania a symptom of PTSD?

Wow 15 times in 18 months now.:wtf
Every time he offends now should be a new record?

I keep hearing about a bus in this thread.... Whammy is a little more partial to
CEMENT TRUCKS when it comes to thieves.

Sticky fingers' number will be up one day, getting caught by the wrong guy will happen eventually.

last week I found his arrest report going back to 2014 ... will see if I can find it again when I get to work.

San Francisco has a dedicated courtroom and judge for our military veterans ... it used to be separate from 850 Bryant at Polk and Golden Gate.

my “suprised” comment above wasn’t that he’d been released from jail again, but that it didn’t appear that he’d been released after a court date by the judge, but had instead been released by our Sherrif ...? :dunno

anyway, he’s back in jail today: :party

glad to see we’re getting our violent impulses
focused in a more productive direction. :thumbup:angel

Whammy looked into this SF veteran court program.
It might be a help to some in need vets, but its obviously not helping this guy.
Being a vet myself it saddens me this loop this character has come to, and probably many like him.
IDK what else one could do when they just keep offending.
We all know what the laws are, and the consequences for breaking them.
Might be high time for him to just go inside for a spell.
For those who want to know more about this "special court' See the link. https://www.sanfrancisco.va.gov/features/Veterans_Justice_Court.asp

Whammy doesn't know what to think of this court either.
Just like the cities wonderful "we can help you" programs id be curious to know how much help its been?

He was beyond veteran's court, which is indicative of receiving his 1170(h) sentence. If anyone wants to read about veteran's court, start with 1170.9 PC.

That looks like a fresh case number- I wonder if he did it again while on electronic monitoring.

no justice in this world, does not matter who the DA is, no one cares about my motorcycles but me ... :dunno

here's the record of arrests referenced in a post above:

No code has to be inserted here.

This Official Arrest Record was reported on September 30, 2020.
The person named in this listing has only been arrested on suspicion of the crime indicated and is presumed innocent.

tl/dr: arrested first for "joyriding" in Alameda County in 2014 ... place all the blame on that county, myself. :x

also, noticed that the SFPD Tenderloin has stopped adding information in their tweets about how how he whistles, waves and revs up the engine on his stolen motorcycles in order to bring himself to the attention of the arresting officers ...

that's always ever been the only way to get arrested by the SFPD for stealing motorcycles in our fair city, imo. :laughing:gsxrgrl

that's what I think ... :thumbup

thanks for the PC sec reference for veterans' court (and to the SF Court Veteran Justice Court website, Mr W), will read up to refresh my recollection.

used to work with homeless military vets for a mental health/charitable organization, and remembered that the judge who served in our vet's court had a good reputation for handling a difficult case load fairly.

recall that I had respect for him, anyway. this was maybe five years ago ...

Look at that rap sheet.
Obviously doesn’t learn lessons.
Time for some jurisdiction to lock his sorry ass up.

California hasn't had a crime called joyriding in something like 25-30 years. It's all vehicle theft.

Where did that criminal history table come from? Criminal histories are not generally a matter of public record, so I'd be suspicious with regards to the accuracy.

2014 was also the year prop 47 passed. Coincidence?

There are no teeth in the current property crime laws. Criminals know this. There is little anyone can do to stop a person like this for more than a few months in County, at best.

we’ve reached a perfect accord, apparently. :afm199

have heard it said that hard cases make bad law, but I’m sure we’re all pleased they can still always be useful in other ways ... :party
