SF moto thief arrested 13 times

Turns out to be a simple explanation for this miscreant's freedom. His first foray into crime was breaking into a toy store, stealing 50 boxes of Monopoly and...

get-out-of-jail-free-card2.jpg

That explains it!

Wow, reading through this thread. All I can do is :wow shake my head about this dude. Thankfully I think he's an exception to the rules. There couldn't be too many like him running around.

There are plenty like him running around. Plenty.

agree there’s a ton of moto thieves out there, but suspect our guy is a little unique wrt his taunting (whistling, waving and revving the stolen bike’s engine).

suspect that’s part of the reason (the taunts) that the SFPD Tenderloin appears to be particularly annoyed with this moto thief? :dunno

SFPD caught the thief of my CBR red handed within minutes and only blocks away ON my bike. DA’s office didn’t feel the need to prosecute as it was his third strike and didn’t feel the sentence would be justified. I WISH this was the only story I could personally share from SF.

Fuck that. That was long before this current moron got into the DA’s chair. My beloved city has become a shit hole due to so many good intentioned but completely moronic folks. There is progressive, and then just plain stupid. SF is just plain stupid.

DA will soon be mayor and then governor.

I can only wish that he and his family find themselves mortal victims of the same lawlessness he refuses to lift a finger against.

I thought I read that his parents are convicted cop killers????

pretty much the only reason there's any interest in this moto thief ...

there was almost an identical tweet from the SFPD Tenderloin in 09/19 ...
zero outrage back then, because no one cares cared who the DA was at the time. :dunno

in other news, we have a court date, today:
No code has to be inserted here.

ARRAIGNMENT 850 BRYANT ST Dept. 12 01:30 PM

looks like Dept 12 is assigned to Judge Michael McNaughton,
so we should be covered if our thief claims insanity ... :laughing

:party

edit, 7pm, 12/23/20; 12/24/20
and now, a new court date to look forward to:
No code has to be inserted here.

looks like Dept 22 is assigned to Judge Loretta M. Giorgi, Suprv . Judge, Criminal Division, which is the Master Criminal calendar department, I think, so suppose it will be quickly assigned to another Dept on 12/28, if he doesn’t fail to appear. :facepalm

for example Dept 27 is described as “Intensive Supervision,” or even to a trial Dept until they agree on a disposition on the most recent charges ... idk.

think the old court date was 01/07/21, now 01/19/21, and now 12/28/20 ... see if he's released again by the SFSO on electronic monitoring in the next few days. :dunno

update, 12/28/20:

No code has to be inserted here.

back to Judge McNaughten in Dept 12 on 01/19/2021 ...?

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and New Year! Just catching up on my local news. :teeth

While this guy isn't a moto thief that we are aware of if, it is on topic when discussing SF and its famous catch and release program.

Car thief, arrested multiple times THIS YEAR while on parole, no request to charge him this year from DA office, kills two women in SF while driving stolen car this past Thursday, with extended mags (possession of any gun by a felon is illegal... but), and meth in the car. Full article here in the SF Examiner.

Just like our bike thief, its really hard to call these aberrations. I understand some folks wishes to "fix" the system and help more folks ground up in the cogs of justice.... but just like our bike thief.. this is absolutely unacceptable to happen even once.

How many more incidents do we need? In 2017 Mr. French was murdered for his camera on Twin Peaks by Lamonte Mims only days AFTER being arrested as a felon and parole in possession of a hand gun. Long history of car burglaries and theft. Yes I concede our current DA had nothing to do with this..... it's an indictment of the system in SF that doesn't treat property crime seriously. The current DA won't make anything better.

How can anyone defend this? :dunno

Happy New Year! :thumbup

review the thread, no one is saying we live in a world (or city) where human justice is achievable, let alone what may happen with any individual horrible and inexcusable case.

if you go back and sit through our current DA’s recent town hall, one issue he cites is a lack of money ...

if SF wants to make a difference tourists will appreciate, I say we need to double the budget of the DA, SFPD, SO, PD, Adult Probation, Dept of Welfare and Sanitation departments as a good start. seems pretty simple to me ... :dunno

so, anyway, in addition to having to admit to making poor choices for who I vote for as DA, will also have to admit to voting to raise our SF property taxes every chance I get ... :facepalm

thread content edit: our property-thief moto-scourge guy is still in jail as of this morning. :party

Just wow, I don't understand how they can let that person back out on the street. I think the police are making far fewer arrest's and the courts are jailing far fewer perps due to covid. There is no other explanation.

I disagree with this assessment... and btw I still pay two separate SF property tax bills, while using SF as my primary address. Not looking at this as a tourist... even though I am choosing to spend most of my time out of the city at this point.

Lets just leave it at the insight I have into the DA's office, the northern district precinct, business owners, and long time residents from my social circle in the North Neighborhoods is different than perhaps yours or the current DA's. :dunno

Folks I know don't see these as isolated extreme examples.

Not an attack on you. But I suspect come next election cycle we will be on opposite sides come the DA race. Thats ok. We agree on more than we disagree :thumbup

That sack of shit Eric the 13-time bike thief tried to steal one of my bikes about a 15 months ago! Fuck that guy!!!

My co worker saw him messing with my bike and he asked what he was doing and the thief said "I'm repossessing it." My coworker didn't put it all together for a minute or two and then told me.

I ran outside and looked at my bike to see the ignition marred and a guy half a block down the street with two helmets in his hands. I yelled at him and ran down there. Asked him if he tried to steal my bike and he said he did. I kept yelling at him while realizing that I probably could not beat him up. He's fairly bikg- 5'10-11" and about 180 with the fresh-outta-jail peckerwood pushup/pull-up physique. Plus he had a helmet in either had to swing at me. Another of my coworkers came to back me- who happens to be a retired professional MMA fighter. He starts yelling at him too. The thief, Eric, was so chill- no doubt high on pills/heroin that he asked me "why do you keep yelling at me?" The thief also said "well, I guess if we have to go around the corner and handle this then thats what we gotta do" LOL. My buddy just laughed at it- cuz he's bigger than the thief plus been training for 20 years... no contest. He later told me he didnt just beat him down right there cuz he knew it wouldn't get my bike fixed and plus with the amount of security cameras he might end up in trouble.

Anyway, this guy is NOT smart. I told him he messed up the ignition on my bike and its broken. He said, no- its not broken. I said it is! He then starts WALKING BACK to my bike to show me that its not broken. Obviously he's punched it out so its screwed- although the key still technically works. I tell him I'm gonna call the cops unless he gives me $500 to fix it. He says he only has $3. I tell him then I'm going to call them. He says go ahead! My coworker calls them and I and my other coworkers - who have all spilled out to see the commotion... like 7-8 of us take turns taking to him and telling him he's a piece of human garbage thief. I tell him he broke it- he says "No I didn't you ding dong" LOL. hes super chill the whole time.... not aggressive, not manic. I said- you probably stole those helmets too. He relplies "no I didn't... stole them fair and square." We tell him we called the cops and hes says "good, go ahead- wait, you called the cops?! Don't call the cops, I have two warrants. Please don't call them"

Anyway, he hangs out a few more minutes telling me he didnt break my ignition and suddenly remembering he has a shoulder bag full of other stolen items, like clothes. Out of the blue he says, "oh, do you want some pants? I have some new pants you can have." Like we are old friends. Cops show up and as he's walking towards him he tries to pull a little glass pipe put of his pocket and toss it but that cop hooked him fast and didn't take no shit. Hilarious that he let himself get caught. Really the only funny part.

We have the majority of this encounter recorded from security camera in from of the biz too.

Anyway, Hope he gets his last fentanyl blast soon so we wont have to hear about his thieving exploits.

And the BOS and Boudin can also FOAD. They fancy themselves as so enlightened and good willed but just omit human nature from their equations so its just pathetic policy making.

Wow that guy is really is a POS. So Nonchalant and matter of fact, I've done nothing wrong...
Everything is turning to shit.
DA's cry no money to prosecute, Police are hog tied.
Laws are working in the favor of the criminals... what's a person to do these days to protect their transportation?

Maybe something like in the real wild west?
Horse thieves were rumored to be hung, but I cant find anything that would back that up so its just a rumor. In todays terms it would be labeled a "conspiracy theory"
Again what is a person to do? IDK peoples of teh barfs? Maybe a lead pipe to the knee caps ?
Maybe do something barbaric like removing the right hand like they do in the middle east still today. That would certainly label people, but we cant do that its inhumane ? Some folks would be in a total uproar over that. SMH
Where do we draw the line?

tourist crack was directed at myself ... :teeth

Shaggy and I had a discussion in our Political Forum about the DA when the current DA was first elected, and think we agreed with my nickel bet that he won’t last a full term, or won’t run for re-election ... if he does run, betting you’ll have the satisfaction of the ranked-vote system biting him next time around. :dunno

anyway ... disk locks and chains-to-a-post and a close eye on my bikes is SF, and I’m sure I’ll have another stolen bike story, anyway, soon enough. :facepalm

Clearly America has not been made great again.

But..I'm as native California as they come, and have come to the conclusion that the Bay Area hasn't ever been perfect for all it's residents. I lived in East Oakland for much of my life and was astonished the first time I saw Piedmont. It was like 2 miles from our neighborhood at Fruitvale and 27thave.
It's all about what you can afford when you get down to it. If you don't have the money, you can't garage your bike or car, if you live in Piedmont, you can garage your 10 bikes and an Aston Martin.
Bike gets stolen, take a limo to the dealership and buy 3 more.
Otherwise, walk home and listen to idiots shooting up your street all night.

Chesa Boudin or whatever it's name is isn't the cause of all things that are not Great San Francisco, but relax, the people who voted for him mostly moved to Austin, TX, or something. Now maybe the addicted homeless will follow them.
