That looks like the Grack Center. Last time I was over there we climbed the Grack Left. There was a snake that started up the route when I was belaying my partner on the 1st pitch. By the time were rapping off, I think it had finished the 1st pitch.

Some kind of king snake or milk snake--looks sort of like a coral snake but isn't.

wait, what?
great weekend. Hit the Leap on Saturday and Spires on Sunday, climbed a few classics including Bear's Reach (finally) and Gingerbread on the Upper Spire. Anyone else have plans coming up?

Last weekend I watched Hans Florine & Alex Honnold crush the speed record on the nose of el cap. Gave me an excuse to ride to Yosemite & camp--1st time this year, and 1st time on current bike. The event was fun to watch the whole way too.

I live just outside of Stockton...definitely not one of the best places on earth.

What, "Stuck in Lodi"? That is worthy of a song.

I went to a rock climbing slide show at Western Mountaineering once: "A Year on the Road". Awesome.

These films are undoubtedly great. Specular scenery.
(as an aside, i saw "Everest" eight times at the IMAX theatre, cause it was spectacular, but that's just me...)

Lodi would be great if it wasn't 5 minutes from Stockton, AKA 10th most violent city in the nation. I'm still baffled that San Juan Sherrif doesn't want people to have CCW permits.

Anybody looking for a belay partner for Diablo Rock in Concord? Since breaking up with my gf haven't had anyone to climb with. Staring at my gear is starting to get depressing.

Middle of the day would be best for me too. I'm a pretty novice climber though 5.10a/b. I do hope improve and learn how to lead climb soon.

I've been doing the Planet Granite thing every Wednesday at 11 am with Curt from SBR. Sneak away from the office for a couple hours. Fun. I still suck. I can do some 5.10a's...
