It is closed. no estimate on when it will re open. not looking good. it will probably totally collapse, esp if it rains more.

Well it is still possible to ride Redwood between Skyline and Marciel Gate, after that the road is closed. Might be a good thing, much less traffic.

Dang, was just up there Tuesday, but the reality is this wouldn't really cramp a RWR run for me since I'm coming from the other side to begin with....and may do a lot to reduce commute traffic through there!

If it's just closed after Marciel, then there's still plenty of road to hoon about on. Just a lot harder to turn it into a trip down to Mines, especially since Palomares is done for as well.

FYI, Palomares is not really closed. I ran my Suburban up it from Niles to the top. There are barricades taking it down to one lane and lots of sand/gravel but it's navigable. :teeth arty
