Redwood Road, Castro Valley, is CLOSED to all traffic at mile marker 7.38 due to roadway failure.

This closure blocks all access between Castro Valley and Oakland.

Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Guests accessing the East Bay Regional Park District’s Lake Chabot campground facilities need to enter from the Oakland side of Redwood Road.

Looks a lot like where that new stop sign "one lane" section was located on Castro Valley side.

This is super:wtf as I just rode it some 16 hours ago and the road looked fine at the time.

Confused
I was going to ride it last weekend but the ergo changes/track levers I was testing on me sprotsbile were awful so I turned around after I came to the Pinehearst/Redwood T junction.

I'm surprised as well that the bit of rain we had sunday evening was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I make words too.
I went through there yesterday about 11ish am and they were setting up a single lane barrier. It looked like about half the lane that they were closing had fallen into the ravine. It must have gone...downhill...from there.

Rode it at 9:45am, crews were out there gazing into the abyss.
Chatted for a bit, no ETA what so ever on re-opening.

This ruins my race commute.

hearing that redwood is closed with no eta erodes my sanity, plus with morgan territory still down i'm close to collapse...

ah this sucks - redwood is the quickest stint for me to get some decent riding in - maybe they'll fix some of the damn bumps there but i doubt it.

Same here. I will probably ride in less if I can't take RWR on the way home.

Skyline > McArthur > Lake Chabot Road just doesn't have the same feel. :(
