Photos of your bike on location

Do you have to clean the bike before you return it?

Thanks for continuing to ride, take photos, and post.

I wonder why they put that tiny little tank on that bike? It seems like they could've gotten away with a much larger tank and give more range.

I wondered about cleaning, too, but figured some mud splatter from wet roads would be expected. The only time I saw a "cleaning clause" on Riders Share was a guys with a WR250R saying if he had to power wash the bike he'd charge $30 for it. Anyway, the FTR owner told me not to worry about it as he used to take it on dirt roads. People who rent their bikes out aren't the type that worries about bikes getting a little dirty.

The small tank size's got to be dictated by the styling. The fuel gauge showed empty after only ~100 miles. The actual tank is under the seat, about level with the filler neck, and you must fill it slowly for the gas to gurgle down. From the white filler neck with a small opening at the bottom it's like watching the water draining slowly down a clogged toilet.

A few more from this morning, on the way to returning the bike

Gary, I see you even blanked out the license plate on that rental bike.

Since you like to fuzz out license plate numbers, I wonder if you carried a thin magnetic strip with you and attach it to the license plate before you take photos. Like one of those thin 8.5 x 11 magnetic sheets you would buy at OfficeMax or something and cut a little piece out of it that fits onto the license plate enough to cover the numbers. That way you don't have to do photo editing later. I hate photo and video editing. It eats up a lot of time.

I'm the opposite. A few minutes spent editing photos makes a dramatic difference. I enjoy putting on the final touch.

Really likes that last one up close.

Picture of the BIKE on location :).

I took 19 shots there trying to capture the water droplets at the bottom edge of the tinted screen, but I wasn't entirely successful. Only so much I could do with an iPhone, I guess.

Here's another from a slightly different angle, but I won't show you all 19. :laughing

Gary, it’s so cool to see how much you hold this thread down!

We moved out of town to the countryside in Prunedale and we quite love it out here. The roads and rural areas are beautiful, and my SuperMagna feels at home here. Quick shot next to Elkhorn Slough, still stock metallic blue before the rat modifications go down this weekend.

Thanks, man!

How much was it to rent the FTR? I'd love to rent one. I think Spirit was renting them for like $200 a day!

The FTR's in Seaside; just look it up on Riders Share - it's got some options you could choose or decline. The base rate is $170 for the first day plus 10% service charge, so $200 a day isn't far off.

San Jose, corner of Auzerais and Royal -

The development plan calls for mixed use office space, retail and 5,900 residential units! Hard to imagine what San Jose will look like in 10-20 years.

We call that cement ship. There are schools of small sharks out there but an awesome spot to slay halibut if the time of the year is right. We’ll motor out about 100 yards away and the fishing is killer.

Notice how the bike fits in neatly and hardly blocked any part of the artwork in this pic :cool
