I have 2 dear friends that we all got into the habit of taking vacations together with for a few years, often with misc other members of the gang that were interested at the time, but always we 3 amigos.
No pics of us on these trips, typically the tradition was there would be a cell phone photo of three empty drink glasses at the bar wherever we had our first round.

That reminds me of our trip to Yelapa in 2015; great place, my buddy has a Palapa there that we all stayed in.
There were 5 of us and one turned out to be a lazy SOB who wouldn't lift a finger to clean/cook/pay and I laid into his ass BIG time as the last straw was he wouldn't let my friend Jim use his cellphone as it turned out Jim didn't have a "plan" to call his (lunatic) wife.
Mark's response was "only if you are nice to me" after Jim, (and everyone else), had been doing their bit for the "team" and he sat on his fat ass.
We had been friends for decades, I even sold him my Nighthawk 750 for $900 when it was worth $3500.
Never been the same with that guy since then.
But, we had a great time nonetheless.
The cat just showed up one day and a beach dog stayed with us two days that followed us back from a restaurant.

I did have a drink with him in a downtown SF bar, I just can't remember how late in the day it was or if there happend to be solar eclipse......
Here's my addition. Went to southern Brazil last October for a business trip. First time in country, and we were setting up a program with our soon to be business partner for South America. Did a bunch of demo's and traveled in the lower two states, but at the end of the trip I took some extra time to hang out and see the area. Very inexpensive, clean and the people were great. Everyone plays 80's music and can sing along even if hardly anyone speaks any english. Only 10% of the population spoke any english, and about 20% spoke spanish, which was helpful to me.
This was in Florianiopolis which is just a beautiful place on the coast. Same time we were there it was Octoberfest in a small Germanish town nearby. Was told that they host the 2nd largest Octoberfest, and Germany is 1st. I believe it, huge crowds, lots of beer and I whitnessed the best polka rendition of ACDC. Oktoberfest of Blumenau...
Beach was beautiful, incredible spectical of beautiful Brazilian women. We partied at our partners inlaws place right on the beach. This business trip started a whole cascade of decisions that have really changed my life: mostly for the best. And no, I'm still married to the same wife....

Left Brazil at age 2 where I was born in Curitiba and never returned.

No, you take the shot in close with no clearly identifying marks. Just the glasses, a bar or table top, maybe a little bit of floor or a sign that isn't clear in the background, but you do the shot so only we three would know what the photo meant if observing it.

for the past several months i have been supporting a lot of my company’s business requirements in brazil - and just finished negotiations for a site in curitiba. my brazilian colleagues requested the move, which was initially denied. i was asked to persuade my company to reconsider (they eventually agreed).
can’t say enough how awesome it is to work with the brazilians. only issue has been that brazilian portuguese messes with my head (my SO is european portuguese so that’s what i’m used to).
once travel restrictions ease up am looking forward to meeting them all in person.
I knew where that was right when I saw it. Germany was cool, spent 16 months there

Last family vacation pre covid.
Cruise in Europe starting in Southampton.
Spent a week visiting family in the UK before getting on the ship 5/31/19.
My cousin Kit; went to boarding school with him from 1964-1966; worst period of my life but he and his family were the bright spot as my folks were still in Colombia.
A little worse for wear over the years due to his drinking habits.
This was at 10am IIRC at a pub in Lewes! :laughing
I think we hit 8 pubs that day; I was hammered on the train back to my other Cousin's house.

Good luck, I have met some Brazillians through BARF and few more casually in SF and they all tell me the same thing. Don't go, you will be murdered, I do not go back to visit, because I do not want to be murdered. :laughing

Must have been from a big city. Last October I went on a 4 day agricultural rock tour and did 200+ miles/day, at least 2 shows/day in the two southern states. No issues (we did travel with locals). This was all in the country and I was told not to go hang out in the Favela's or there may be trouble. But hey, there are places in Oakland, Stockton and Fresno that would be considered Favela's. Shit I wouldn't walk the streets of Clear Lake after 8pm....
