Left Santa Rosa on March 3rd of this year to deliver my wife's 2007 TSX 6 speed manual to my brother in Miami.

She was done with manuals after 40 years and wanted an SUV and her CX5 Turbo AWD is a fine vehicle but I preferred the older car and didn't want to just sell it for a song so decided to just give it to my brother in Miami.

Started a BARF thread about how to get it there and then just said, screw it, if Jim (my retired friend) agrees to go with me I'll just drive it there as I have family in Austin and he has family in New Orleans so off we went.

First stop, Indio, CA.

Lovely old style drive up motel near the train tracks upon arrival, car in the foreground. Good meal at a Mexican restaurant there, inside, no masks, Covid was a "maybe" at that point.

Na Pali coastline Kalalau trail is the best trekking trail one could do in USA (imho), and the bonus is to find the waterfall inlands from that trail.

Visiting home of ancestors! There's 23 buildings, due to arrangement, you can't see more than 1 at time.

Why no vacation during Covid?

Did a camping road trip to Red Rock NP, Nevada to climb multi-pitches for the first time.

I managed to pay a visit to Burma literally right before lockdown. Back when flying airplanes without masks was safe and before Rona was 'officially' here. It was a trip of a life time. I got to see so many wonders, eat so much delicious food, see the birth place of my parents, visit my great grandfathers resting place and re-connect with my religion.

Apolgogies to Geoff on the accidental closing.

Lets see more!

:laughing

No worries Dennis, man, pretty much ALL of the photos posted by others are better than mine! :thumbup

Second day of our trip was to the Lundeen Inn in Las Cruces NM.

1200 total miles covered at end of day two.

The drive past some mind blowing "could be Mars" landscapes was certainly eye opening but, sadly, no photos by my wing man and we were so late getting into the Lundeen Inn and then Dinner at a lousy place in beautiful Messila recommended by the batshit crazy owner that we didn't even take any phots so had to steal some off the web.

The Lundeen Inn is super cool and worth staying at; we conversed with some NASA Engineers in the morning as there is a nearby NASA facility.

Photo of the massive table we ate at.

Mesilla is great as well but I think we ate at the wrong place but the name escapes me.
