Las Cruces to Austin, 3 day stop with my family, put us at 1800 miles, arrived on March 5th.

Headed Downtown to listen to some music and eat, the following day we climbed an overlook to see where the rich folks lived and had an awesome lunch at Terry Black's.

My nephew and I listening to a great band at a small venue.

Wing man and nephew at Terry Black's and houses of the wealthy on the water in Austin.

Left Austin on March 8th after three nights there for New Orleans to hang with my wingman's family for three nights of "normal" no mask activity though news of the virus still had us washing our hands/sanitize often.

Had some great meals, including an epic breakfast at Elizabeth's.

Spent the first evening on Frenchmen's Street where bars had live bands and packed houses and the streets were full of revelers including HS Street Bands busking which was awesome.

Italy was having a spike and I overheard on guy laughingly suggesting they go as "flights are just $20."

2350 miles thus far with Jim, the rest of the trip to Old Orlando and then Miami would be solo.

Its Dethklok!
March 12, 2020. Right before the lockdown. Took my daughter to Las Vegas for the first time as an adult. We walked around with our arms outstretched and didn't come close to anyone else. Yes, it was empty. I always high 5 Caesar for good luck. We had dinner at Morimoto (recommended). I got the Ahi Tuna tacos. $29. for 3. Jokes on me I guess? Still the best damn taco I ever had!

On March 11th after three nights of "normal" fun in New Orleans drove solo the 640 miles to old Orlando to visit my good friend and his wife at their second home near their new grandchild.

3000 miles driven up till this point and, amazingly, never ran into any major traffic or crazy driving by others.

Had a nice dinner out and was able to see my DRZSM that I shipped to him in February.

Evidently sumos are a rare thing in Orlando and he gets double takes which seems odd to us here in the Bay Area.

Final post on my particular trip, hopefully others will continue to post theirs.

Did the final 250 miles of the trip arriving in Miami on March 13th, 2020.

A few days later spent the night in Key Largo just before they shut hotels down.

On the way back to Miami from the Keys there were residents with signs telling incoming drivers to turn around and go away, at that point the lockdowns came fast an furious but we did have on last lunch at a restaurant in Key Largo that we accessed by my brothers' friend's boat.

Overall a great trip perfectly timed.

Flew home on a 20 percent full plane 3 days early on the last nonstop to SFO on the 21st.

Equivalent of driving from Glasgow Scotland, to Beirut! :laughing

Photo of my younger brother on delivery, (still loves the car), photo of him on the boat going to the restaurant and sunset from his friend's condo.

I love the stupid video poker machines. It is nearly all I ever play in Vegas.

Vegas should bring people back with those old school $5 steak dinners they used to do. I never had one, but heard they were legit.

Smile & Wave for me!
This is making me melancholy :cry

I want to have fun again! Went and hung out with my cousin Shawna, watched NBA game and tried different restaurants

Went fishing, went to so many concerts! Rascal Flatts, Mr Crowley and a few others.
