Got shot yesterday. Sore arm today and mild headache. The arm is sorer than any flu shot I have had. But glad I got it.

That was the other halfs reaction as well. She got her second shot last Friday with a coworker. Both of them could barely get out of bed all weekend. Severe joint pain, nausea, and fever all weekend. Described as a nuclear hangover on top of the flu.

It's reports like this that tell me that my wife and I should not get these at the same time. Hate for us both to be waylaid for a weekend.

Fwiw Moderna shot #1 2 weeks ago, no adverse reaction. Shot #2 coming up first week of February.

Not sure when I'll be getting one.

Work from home and don't really do much outside of the house so I'm not exactly in the high priority groups.

My SO has had both doses for Moderna. The second dose gave her a mild fever for 12hrs that was controllable with Tylenol. A few of her coworkers also had the same reaction.

you guys are appreciated-I'm planning for my second dose and the potential side effects it may have. Maybe I'll take the rest of the day off.

Yea, this is a great thread.

Looking at the priority lists, my wife and I are in the same category (just due to age), but we're planning on scheduling them a week apart, in the unlikely event that we both get clobbered for a day with a side effect.

Best one of us be up and able to help support the other just in case.

Anecdotally I have heard that both first shots are no big deal other than sore injection site. Second Moderna shot has mild, if any, side effects but the Pfizer version causes some pretty hefty reactions. Take that however you will.

My brother, sister in law and mother in law have all gotten first shots. No side effects.

My Dad got it as well, but he tested positive for Covid two days later, so it was too late for him.

I just got mine at the San Jose Fairgrounds. It is the Moderna version. The needle is big. Very scary. But after the injection it didn’t hurt right away. The staff keep me under observation for 15 minutes and I got a time for the second shot. I felt dizzy when I was in the parking lot so I called 2 friends to pick me up. The next day my arm felt really sore but after 2 days the sore went away.

I keep hearing about people who aren't healthcare workers or over 65 getting the vaccine. What am I not understanding?

How is it you were vaccinated?

Nothing DD has shared would lead me to believe he is in a currently qualifying tier in California for a vaccine. Something isn't adding up.

I'm currently in tier 1 of 1b. My county is supposedly vaccinating people in that tier. Yet I'm still waiting.

I got my first Pfizer shot on 1/4. I had a delayed symptoms/reaction over the next two weeks of basically everything they list as a reaction other than nausea. Day 3- super bad migraine, days 2-present- lethargic, muscle aches, joint pain, chills but no fever, but overall drained feeling. The real fun part has been the small rash around my midsection. Its not itchy like hives but annoying. My arm was sore, super bruised (still bruised in fact), and noticeable swelling at injection site.

I got the second dose yesterday. I immediately took Ibuprofen and Tylenol to help with soreness off the bat and maybe thwart another set of delayed symptoms. I feel pretty good this morning and going to cross my fingers that maybe the first dose is the worst of it for me.

For context, I am typically a good patient. No crying when I broke my femur, no crying or whining from emergency surgery a few years back. I don't get affected by the annual flu shot I am required to take. This vaccine has put me through the ringer. I am glad to hear so many others had a much better experience than me.
